Not Work Day (Aitana Bonmatí x Reader)
Summary: Aitana and you spend a rare day off together.
A/N: This is just a silly little story I thought of a while ago and finally wrote in hopes of getting into more of a writting mood again. So many ideas and so little ability to put them on 'paper' lately...
I hope you enjoy this one! :)
Dating a professional football player wasn’t always easy. Whenever you mentioned that to anyone they usually assumed you referred to your girlfriend having to travel a lot or the lack of days off together because of conflicting schedules, or the interest the nosey media and even nosier public had in your relationship.
And sure, all of these things could be tricky at times, but there was something else that was even harder to bear; seeing your girlfriend being worked to the ground with almost no time to recuperate properly. Before you started dating Aitana you had never thought much about it, now it haunted you during the days and disturbed your dreams.
Every new injury you heard about made your stomach drop, always wondering the same thing, what if next time it would be your girlfriend going down with some horrible injury? The guilt always followed close behind, with your berating yourself for being happy in any capacity that someone else got hurt.
More often than not it was a struggle to watch Aitana’s games. You had a tendency to clench every single muscle in your body until the final whistle was blown, and you could be sure that nothing bad had happened.
For a while you did your best to keep these concerns to yourself, not wanting to make Aitana worry about you unnecessarily. Convinced that if you just wanted it enough, you would get over this.
You should have known that your girlfriend would catch on; she was too perceptive not to notice it, too concerned about your well-being to miss it.
When she did you explained somewhat reluctantly what was bothering you; the last thing you wanted was for your girlfriend to feel guilty. This wasn’t her fault at all and she shouldn’t feel bad about playing the sport she loved.
Despite your best efforts to downplay it, the first thing you saw in Aitana’s eyes once you finished your explanation was guilt. Most likely because you were looking for that emotion specifically, but in that moment you couldn’t think rationally like this. You were about to apologize, try and take it back somehow, when she asked you one simple question.
“Is there anything we can do to make you feel better about it?”
Up until that point it had never occurred to you to think about possible ways to make the situation easier for yourself. Usually your thoughts had been centered around scolding yourself for being such a worrywart. It made you oddly emotional that Aitana took you this seriously and didn’t dismiss your concerns.
Neither of you found a satisfying answer to the question that night, but over time you came up with something that helped, a tradition that you called ‘not work days’.
On one of these ‘not work days’ you were awoken by Aitana trying to get up. Without opening your eyes you reached out to grab her wrist and pull her back into bed. You were met by some resistance, forcing you to open your eyes and scowl at the brunette.
“Hey, you work or not work?” You asked, leaving no room for interpretation what the correct answer was.
Aitana rolled her eyes at you, but relented, snuggling back into you much to your delight. You wrapped your arms around her and buried your face in her shoulder.
“I’m never going to be free of that stupid phrase, am I?” She grumbled.
“Nope,” you agreed, “And now hush, it’s way too early to be up on a not work day.”
You felt some lingering tenseness in your girlfriend’s body, apparently she wasn’t fully ready yet to commit to resting some more. It was time to pull out your magic weapon; you began gently tracing small circles in the space between Aitana’s eyebrows. It worked like a charm. Within seconds the brunette fell back asleep and you let yourself drift off as well.
The next time you woke up it was on your own accord, like you hoped it would be. Usually when you managed to get your girlfriend back to sleep she didn’t wake up again until late in the morning. In your mind a clear indication that the Spaniard needed this extra rest.
You allowed yourself to linger in bed a little longer to hold Aitana in your arms and watch her sleep. It was rare for her to be still if she was awake, always moving around, busy with one thing after another.
Mostly the midfielder loved it and was happy with her life, but sometimes it became all too much. She had confided in you a while back that being with you had helped her to finally find a healthy balance in her life. That was without a doubt the biggest compliment anyone had ever given you.
After a few more minutes you placed a soft kiss on your girlfriend’s forehead, before carefully extracting yourself and moving to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. Breakfast in bed was a staple of the not work days..
You hummed happily to yourself while you made an omelet, mixed a smoothie and cut up some cherry tomatoes. And of course you couldn’t forget about the coffee! When everything was ready you walked back to the bedroom, ready to wake up Aitana with some gentle cuddles.
However, your plan was thwarted. You opened the door and instantly spotted your girlfriend on her cell phone. This in itself wasn’t a problem, but the way she had crunched up her nose and her eyebrows were knitted together, revealed to you that she was most likely looking at something work related. She looked too stressed for this to be anything else.
“What are you doing?” You demanded, “This is a not work day!”
You expected the Catalan to smile at you apologetically, instead a huge grin appeared on her face and she turned her phone around. It took a moment until you realized why she had done that; your girlfriend was recording the entire interaction and apparently she thought this was hilarious.
“Haha, very funny,” you grumbled, “I really thought you were working already.”
“I know, you should have seen your face,” Aitana replied between laughter, “Oh wait, you can. Come over here, mi amor.” She patted the bed next to her, but you remained standing. You would have crossed your arms, but the breakfast tray was stopping you from doing so.
“Don’t be like that, mi amor. I’m only giving back what you’ve been handing out. Or do I have to remind you how often you’re sending me that stupid ‘You work or not work’ video? How you even added some cute animal pictures to the beginning of it, so I wouldn’t recognize right away what clip it is? You violated the sanctity of cute animal pictures!”
The midfielder sounded so scandalized by this that you couldn’t help but crack a smile. You shuffled over to the bed, leaning over to give your girlfriend a good morning kiss. Just like you hoped this successfully distracted her from the stupid video she had recorded because you had no interest in watching it. You were admittedly better at teasing than being teased.
“So what’s the plan for today?” Aitana asked, tucking into her breakfast. “This is so good by the way.”
“No plans, we just do whatever you want to do,” you responded, deliberately ignoring her praise. Dealing with compliments also wasn’t one of your strengths.
“Whatever I want?” The Catalan asked with a smirk.
You rolled your eyes. “Everything that’s within the rules of not work days,” you clarified.
“But coming up with ideas is work too,” your girlfriend complained.
“My poor baby! Okay, here are some ideas; we can bundle up on the couch and watch a movie, we can make cookies, we can take a walk in the rain…”
“Yes! Let’s take a walk in the rain,” Aitana interrupted, her choice surprising you. The midfielder wasn’t known for liking the rain, in fact she made no secret of how much she hated the rain.
“Really?” You double-checked.
Your girlfriend nodded, “Yeah, you made it sound so romantic a few days ago. Both of us under one umbrella, the rain pattering on it, huddling close together for warmth. Sounds like a movie scene.”
“Okay then, let’s do it.”
The two of you got ready, Aitana putting on much more clothes than you. Normally you would tease your girlfriend about it, but you didn’t want to risk her remembering the video she had taken earlier.
In the beginning the walk was actually romantic. The sound of the pitter patter on the umbrella was soothing, especially with how quiet and deserted the roads were. You breathed in deeply, savoring the smell of rain. Aitana was snuggling into your side and when you looked over she had a soft smile on her lips.
Before too long however, you noticed that your girlfriend clung a little too strongly to you and she was dragging her feet. This time when you glanced her way you were met by an unhappy expression, though it quickly morphed into a forced smile as soon as Aitana noticed your eyes on her.
You pulled her to a stop. “What is it, babe?”
“My feet are wet,” the Catalan whined.
Your eyes snapped to her feet. Your girlfriend was wearing her favorite and already pretty worn sneakers. It wasn’t really surprising that they weren’t able to withstand the rain anymore.
“Then let’s go back home,” you stated, already turning around and tugging Aitana’s hand to follow you.
“No, I don’t want to ruin this.”
You turned to face the midfielder again, cupping her cheek with your free hand.
“And I don’t want you to be miserable, or worse get sick. And anyway this is your not work day, so you should only do things you’re enjoying.”
Aitana nuzzled slightly into your palm, smiling up at you. “Okay, but I disagree, it’s our not work day.”
You walked back rapidly to your apartment and when you got there you sent the brunette to the bedroom with the instruction to change into something comfy and get rid of her wet socks.
“Don’t put on other ones though! I have something for you,” you added.
A few minutes later you met Aitana back at the couch, a cup of tea in one hand and the other one hidden behind your back. Your girlfriend craned her neck, trying to sneak a peek, but you didn’t allow it.
“Show meeeee,” the Catalan begged.
You followed the request, showing her the fluffy socks you had bought a while back. A huge smile spread across Aitana’s face as she saw them.
“They look so comfortable. Thank you! But how did you know I would need them?”
You shrugged your shoulders. “I didn’t. I just bought them randomly for a not work day. It’s pure luck that you got wet feet today.”
“Or maybe this was all part of an elaborate evil plan to get me to undress my feet in front of you,” Aitana joked.
“You got me there. That’s why I raved about walks in the rain and that’s why I suggested it this morning. I even sabotaged your shoes,” you explained with a serious face.
Your girlfriend giggled happily. “I guess in that case you’ve earned the right to put on the new socks and give me a foot rub afterwards,” she said, sticking her feet out towards you.
“How generous of you!” You exclaimed, quickly putting on the fluffy socks.
Then you went to sit down next to Aitana to give her the requested foot rub, but you stopped in your tracks when you saw the midfielder glaring at you.
“Everything okay?” You asked uncertainly.
“No!” The brunette cried out, making your heart beat faster; what had you done wrong? “I need you to change into comfortable clothes as well. This doesn’t look like a good outfit to relax in.”
You looked down yourself and only now realized that you were still wearing jeans. “Oh, I guess you’re right.”
Before you got a change to move away, Aitana caught your hand and pulled you in for a kiss. “Sorry for scaring you. I didn’t realize it would actually make you anxious,” she apologized. “And now go, I need my girlfriend to warm me up.”
You were happy to oblige, hurrying to the bedroom.
“And can you bring the laptop back with you? I’m in the mood for some online shopping,” Aitana shouted after you.
You were happy to do so since it signified that your girlfriend had fully gotten into the swing of the not work day. It was always the same; in the beginning she didn’t know what she wanted to do, but as time progressed the midfielder became more attuned to her own desires that she so often put on the back burner.
On your return you handed Aitana the laptop before plopping down by her feet, taking them in your lap for the promised foot rub. You hadn’t even started yet, when your girlfriend let out a surprise “Oh”, pulling her feet back and scooting closer to you instead.
“What are these?” She asked, showing you the screen with your last internet search. It had completely slipped your mind what you had been looking at the day before.
“Dresses,” you offered up dryly.
“Yeah, I can see that. Any special occasion?” Aitana probed.
“You know the answer to that. It’s not every day you get to accompany your girlfriend to an award show for the best football players in the world,” you replied nervously; although you didn’t know why you felt nervous about this.
“Aw, I really appreciate that!” Your girlfriend cooed, her eyes flickering over the screen, “Can I help pick?”
You nodded; that had always been the plan. Since this was the first time you were going along as Aitana’s partner you wanted to look your best, so another opinion was definitely needed.
“Some of them are pretty expensive,” the Catalan mentioned carefully.
Money had always been a touchy subject between the two of you. Aitana had a lot more of it than you did; still you didn’t feel comfortable with constantly letting her pay, insisting that you took turns. The brunette wasn’t too happy about that, but by now you had found some middle ground, usually going to less expensive places when it was your turn to pay.
“Nothing I can’t handle,” you dismissed Aitana’s concern, “And I want to look worthy of my girlfriend. You know she’s currently the best football player in the world?”
“You sound so proud of me.”
Atiana’s voice was oddly quit; it made you wonder if she doubted that you were proud of her. You thought back to the last few games and realized with a start that you couldn’t remember the last time you had actually said these words. This way worrying, especially considering your girlfriend had a hard time believing things unless she heard them over and over again.
“That’s because I am,” you responded firmly, vowing to do better.
“Even if it makes you anxious?” The brunette wondered.
You sighed, rubbing your face. “Let’s be honest, no matter what job you had, I would always be anxious about something. That’s the annoying thing about anxiety; it’ll always find something else to worry about.”
Aitana looked up at you hopefully, “So you don’t hate that I’m a footballer?”
“What? No, of course not! And I’m sorry if I made you feel like that,” you apologized.
“Well that’s good then,” your girlfriend announced, a smirk appearing on her face, “But hey, is working out issues even allowed on a not work day? Or did you just break your own rules?”
You rolled your eyes, “Of course it’s allowed and since they’re my rules, I can change them whenever I want.”
Aitana raised her eyebrows, fighting to keep her face neutral, “Oh really, is that how it works?”
“Yes,” you nodded sagely.
A devilish grin appeared on your girlfriend’s face, and too late you recognized your mistake.
“In that case I’m making my own rules as well and decide that I get to buy you this blue dress.” She pointed to the one that was your absolute favorite, but that was also firmly out of your price range.
“Aitana,” you groaned, “That’s not how it works!”
“Oh? If you can make up random rules, so can I,” the Catalan pointed out, daring you to disagree with her.
“That’s not the same at all. I don’t want you to spend money on my clothes,” you argued
“Why not? If you think about it, I’ll get to appreciate your dress much more than you. I can admire you in it all night long, and maybe I’ll even get to take if off of you. And this dress will look stunning on you; it will really bring out your eyes.”
“Fine”, you relented, making your girlfriend squeal happily. There was one more thing to say though, so you stopped Aitana’s over the top celebration with one hand. “But this means you can only get me something small for my birthday.
“Okay,” the midfielder agreed suspiciously quickly.
“And I mean that, Tana!” You doubled down.
Your girlfriend nodded, but seemed to be only half-listening, too busy adding the dress to your cart. You would just have to bring it up again when your birthday was closer because you wouldn’t be budging on that.
After Aitana successfully ordered the dress, she leaned back with a content sigh.
“I really love these not work days, you know?”
Your heart leapt happily at that concession. “Me too, babe.”
Sometimes you wished you got more of them, but maybe not having them all the time made them extra special.

Elden Ring, my reading on Marika
Having finished the DLC, I am thinking of this scene. The scene from Ranni's ending, where she replaces Marika as a Goddess and Marika vanishes, finally passing away.
And one of the biggest twists in the game, alongside one of the major unsolved mysteries in the story is the reveal that Marika herself shattered the Elden Ring for some purpose, with the most sympathetic reading being that this was the only way she had to escape from the control of The Greater Will and recover her freedom.
The DLC expands on Marika, giving us an origin for her.
That is, of the horrors her people suffered at the hands of the Hornsent, the same people she would command Messmer to wage War upon them and commit what seems to have been a brutal genocide.
Now, my personal reading is that, after what happened to her people, Marika did a metaphorical deal with the devil. Either The Elden Beast or Metyr arrived to The Lands Between near Marika's village, and she accepted to be a Goddess and a servant of The Greater Will in exchange for her vengeance. and to be perfectly fair to Marika, this was the closest to Justice her people would ever get.
Now, Count Ymir suggests Marika was influenced by flawed advice from Metyr, the Mother of Two-Fingers, who lost contact with The Greater Will. But he also believes the moons are just the closest celestial object to our planet, so he is full of Shit. Because that doesn't yet explain The Elden Beast.
In any case, Marika made that deal and became a Goddess and she got her vengeance. And she fulfilled her duty as accorded, Conquering and expanding and forcing everyone to bow to The Greater Will. Who knows what she felt during this time. If she lusted for power as her empire grew, or if she was horrified and felt trapped by learning what becoming a goddess meant.
Because everything about Marika is always specifically filtered through someone else. Even the closest we get, her very words spoken by her, are filtered through Melina.
The second closest we get is Marika's village, where we see the things she left behind, Specific actions she and she alone did for nobody else but the memory of her village. and I say this because This:
is the closest we ever, ever get to meeting Marika. a broken face of someone who has long stopped being human, he don't see her eyes, we don't hear her voice. Yet you know what I see here?
Marika's Tired. So, so, so, so... Tired.
Was that it? that at the very end, Marika simply grew tired? was she, in her last moments, thinking back and remembering The Grandmother by the tree, and wishing she could be there for one final slumber?
And so maybe, regardless of what The Age of Stars means, on whether it is the "good ending" or not, this is the ending Marika wanted. For someone, any of her children, to hopefully succeed her and let her rest at last.
And what we see is that in the last moments of the Shaman whose entire home village was cruelly massacred (and who delivered blood upon blood onto those responsible and unto the innocent, and whose entire life was now defined to the service of some greater power), she is being cuddled in the arms of her step-daughter (of whom she may be Ranni's biological father), a moment of peace and warm before the end of a long road.
Maybe one of the things the DLC was meant to show us wasn't why Marika did what she did. It was to show us that it was time for Marika to go back home at last

Hello all!
I hope you are having a fantastic July. It has been a bit quiet on the Wayfarer front recently, but there are many things happening behind-the-scenes.
Episode 3 is reaching its conclusion. While the episode is far from finished, it is finally approaching an end. I can’t say when the alpha will be complete or when it will be available to play publicly, but I am very glad that it is progressing. This is likely going to be the most complex episode to date and there are many variations within it to explore and replay.
Episode 3 was last updated on July 5, 2024. Currently, it includes:
Two starting routes (this is dependent on your Episode 2 ending—you need to have gotten either Aeran's romance or friendship reconciliation ending, Aeran's low romance ending, or Veyer's ending in order to continue)
A large exploration sequence with multiple options of how to proceed
New lore and new mysteries
A new flashback sequence with your mentor
"Quality" time with Aeran (whether this is a good thing or not depends on your approval levels, but I can promise that low approval routes are a treat)
The episode is sitting at approximately 480,000 words for all total content (individual playthroughs will vary drastically depending on your choices).
If you’re interested in checking out the alpha build, now is a great time to join my Patreon. Annual subscriptions come with a 15% discount.
Please note that the alpha build is only available to the Recruit, Apprentice, Wayfarer, Master, and Grandmaster tiers.
Additionally, subscription billing is now available for monthly memberships. This means that the old Patreon format of charging on the first of the month is no more—subscription memberships now renew on the same date you signed up for that membership (i.e. if you signed up on July 10 then your next charge date would be on August 10).
More information is available here.
Creating Wayfarer is a full-time commitment and its development is solely funded through Patreon. It covers my bills, living expenses, and other costs to improve the game’s quality. I am extremely grateful to everyone who has supported my work over the years.

(yes, i reposted this. i needed to edit the dates. thank you to those who will re-reblog and re-like.)
it's finally here. a major quick thank you for all the love and patience everyone has shown me over this series. i hope it's worth the wait.
word count: 11k.
it's getting real now...
CHAPTER TWO: MASTERMIND
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH, SIGMA NU CHAPTER HOUSE
Chistine Kiko just handed you an eighth of mushrooms and you weren’t one to disappoint. Even if it was your first time. “My fucking dad wouldn’t let me do anything in the Hamptons. I literally only had my dab pen and coke. Like, what kind of person does that?”
They taste like fucking shit, Christine licked her pudgy fingers dry while you were gagging between chews. “He sounds,” baby barf, “like a monster.” She doesn’t pick up on your sarcasm, “thank you! Everyone said I was being dramatic too, glad to know I can rely on you.”
You cough on the last swallow, Christine patted at your back, a red solo cup pushed in your hand. “Drink. I mean, he bossed me around all summer too. He thinks I wanna be like him, like, try that with your other kids?” You pull the cup down, “you’re an only child?”
Christine shrugs, “it’s never too late.” You hum while you finish the mixture, it was ultra sweet, you assume it was full of booze. “So, basically, you’re gonna have a super fun time and I will totally be here for you if you need me, but I have friends to see, ya know?”
It’s a nice way of saying she will absolutely not be around if you need her. You stop her with a hand on her wrist, “wait, how long until this hits? Will I know?” Christine smirks, “about an hour, give or take. Ride the wave and pick a bed to land in.”
You’re alone for an entire two minutes, just enough time to get your own cup of jungle juice, the same mixture as Christine’s, before an arm drops around your shoulders. The voice alone makes you want to eat sand, you just know he’s about to say something stupid.
With his girlfriend in tow, blonde hair whips towards you, a snotty smirk, “did you see Harvey yet?” It takes everything in you not to wack his arm. “No, not yet.”
“Well, I’m sure he’s going to love your top.” You huff at him, “this wasn’t even the shirt Ally wanted me to wear, so, fuck you!” Matt holds a hand to his chest, “I am in a committed relationship, and even if I wasn’t, ew.”
“Don’t flatter yourself, blondie. I’ve seen cuter rats.” He narrows his eyes, “I will pray for evil to find you.” Ally gasps, “Matty, no.”
Holding a middle finger up, your eyes wander around the room until you zone in on Harvey resting against the staircase, a gleam of light hits his wrist, silver dances in your eyes.
Harvey must have felt you, his chin rises in a poor excuse for a nod. You flash a four finger wave, raising your cup to your mouth when he starts laughing with a friend. Matt pokes your elbow at the interaction, “what kind of dress are you wearing to the wedding?”
You grin, “I’m not sure yet, I don’t wanna clash with Ally.” You turn to her, “we both can’t wear white, right?”
“Hey, hey, hey, if anyone’s going to marry Ally it’s me, and it’ll be in a church so you’ll either sit it out or burn.”
Checking your phone you nibble at your lip, thirty eight minutes. Trent’s nowhere to be found, you need to start looking. And subtly. You take a step back, pretending to be interested in a fake text. “Give me five minutes, I need to make a call.” Ally’s quick to give the go ahead, “okay, text me if you can’t find us!”
Thirty seven minutes. Your shoulder hits a freshman’s, jungle juice splashes on the hardwood; spilling out an apology you step over the puddle. A boy you haven’t seen before smiles at you, if you weren’t on a mission, you’d be saying hello.
You loop by the garage, heart stuttering when you capture Peter and Ethan playing a game of beer pong. Trent wasn’t there, your last hope and prayer was in the backyard.
Surrounded by rose bushes, the chapter president had his lips wrapped around a cigarette. The red glow lit his cheeks up on the inhale, two girls and another guy with him, you think you shared a class with one of the girls last year.
Trent catches your eyes, it’s clear you both don’t want anyone to know what’s going on. He directed his gaze towards your phone, a hand moved around in his pocket before he produced his own.
You stare at your home screen, expecting the message any second. It comes when you move back inside.
‘Use the backstairs, my room is on the left at the end of the hall.’
‘Give me five minutes.’
Thirty two minutes, you don’t have any time to waste. Your feet hit the stairs.
Trent’s room is messy and terribly decorated. Clothes covered the floor, empty bowls and plates scattered across his desk, a still sweating, sealed water bottle makes you smack your lips. How tempting.
A string of flags, a political one that doesn’t surprise you in the slightest, a ‘Saturdays are for the boys’ one, and a black and white american flag. The trio makes you roll your eyes, it seems very fitting for his personality. No shoe has a matching partner in the entire room, you’re scared to think of what might be under his bed.
You don’t feel safe or comfortable enough to sit on it either, it’s unmade and with a noticeable and questionable looking stain. He does have a couch though, and it looks very, very comfortable. It feels like you’d sink right in. It’s not enticing enough, you don’t trust it.
You check your phone again, it’s been five minutes and it could be the liquor, but you feel a slight wobble. Twenty three minutes until blast off Trent slides through a small crack in the door, your arms cross defensively. “I know you’re not fucking me, but you can at least pretend to care about my time.”
“Wrong. I wouldn’t care about you, even if you were fucking me.” He proudly takes a seat at his desk, he offers you nothing. A smug look rolls over, “you’ve built it up long enough, what do you need from me?”
The sooner it’s over, the better. “My friends and I have a bet on your potential new members, if the person I pick makes it through recruitment, I win. I need you to make sure I win.”
Trent’s facade slips, even just for a millisecond. “One more time, and I need you to be very clear on it, alright?”
Were you slurring your words? You try to speak clearer. “I know someone who’s going to pledge, and I promise you he has no involvement in this, but I need him to be recruited so I can win some money. All I need is for you to make sure I win and they don’t.”
A brief pause, Trent looks sympathetic. “I’m sorry, but I can’t help you with that.” You cut him off, he accepted the terms last Friday, and again when you sent over copies of your- Noa’s hard discoveries.
“No, no, Trent, you did. You said anything I needed, and I need this.”
“If you would’ve told me what you needed, you would’ve known I couldn’t help you.”
“This is bullshit, I’ll start singing from the rooftops about your payoff.”
“No, you won’t. I’m the president, so I get final say on who we fully recruit-” You roll your eyes, “I know.”
“- but I don’t get to choose who makes it past rush, you need a member to bid on a pledge. You need someone to big brother him, I can’t do that. If I get involved it becomes dirty rushing, and that is the biggest ‘no no’ to exist.”
You slump, everything comes crashing down. “So… you can’t even pull rank here?” Trent shakes his head, “absolutely not.”
“So this was all for nothing?”
“If you can find a member to bid on him, you have my promise he’ll make it, and I’ll cut whoever you need so you can win. That’s it.”
You’re at a loss, you have no other member you could ask. Matt could never keep a secret, you didn’t know Ethan well enough and there was no way in hell you’d ask- “Want my advice? Parker is your best bet.”
You shake your head wildly, it takes a moment for your mind to click back into place. “You really want to involve someone else into this? You know what’s at stake, right?” You’re hinting at his secret, Trent shrugs.
“If anyone is going to know about it, I’d want it to be Parker. He can keep a secret and has no issue in playing dirty if he’s in on it.” You’re suddenly very thirsty, you keep licking your lips for moisture.
“He doesn’t know who I am.” Not a total lie.
“Then introduce yourself.”
You shouldn’t have to do anything, he’s the one not making good on his promise. You made good on your end and in return he’s barely lifting a finger. Maybe it had something to do with not wanting Peter involved due to fear of judgment. Or, maybe he’d be impressed like Trent.
If you wanted Peter to be a conquest, it couldn’t start by you asking for a favor. That was friend behavior, and you wanted to be anything but friends. This was Trent’s problem, not yours. He doesn’t understand that you can make things difficult for him if he backs out.
Your tongue is thick and you need water. You have no time for this.
“Listen, Trent. This is your problem. I held up my end of the bargain, and you have to do yours. I don’t care how you do it, but you’re going to pledge Isaac Barns. If you don’t, I’ll turn shit around and make this the dirty frat, the frat that cheated for first place.”
Trent held a clenched jaw, you saw nothing but fury in his eyes. “We’ll figure something out. No need to get mouthy.” If you had more time you’d entertain his comment, but it’s clear he’d figure something out.
You eye the plastic water bottle next to him, snatching it from the side. “And I’m taking this, talk to me when you have a plan, Simpson!” When his door slams shut, it rings in your ears.
You feel every muscle in your legs move while you walk, and within minutes it seemed like everything got brighter. A vibration washes down the back of your thigh, you slap around, it’s your phone. A single text.
‘friend?’
You’ve been missing too long, one way to stop the questions.
‘Finding Harvey…’ the response was a keyboard smash.
Blinking harsh, the room feels like it’s blending together. You’ve never felt this way, it’s like the entire house is moving underneath your feet. The floor waves you into the crowd, everything feels like it’s slow motion, yet sped up at the same time.
“Hey!” You don’t know who it is, it’s a stranger, his voice sounds distorted. You shake your head clear, and step right by him. You’re on a mission and can’t be sidetracked, things are hitting quickly and you need to find Harvey to explain plans have taken a very sharp left.
A spin of bodies, you find one that stands out. You catch her shoulders.
“Lindsey!” You fight for the words, they’re like butter. “Have you seen Harvey Guyn?”
She’s fucking plastered, a slur of letters string out. “... hall.. wine… yeah! haha…” A gasp when she sees a friend across the house, you’re forgotten in a second. Putting your faith in her, you take careful steps, slapping your hands on the wine closet and tugging it open.
“Harvey! You in here? Lindsey said you were-” there was no chance to finish, Harvey was busy doing it for you. His head was thrown back on the wall tiles, a guttural moan ripped from his throat. Wrapped around his fist was a tight hold of black hair, to help Christine Kiko keep his dick swallowed down.
“Oh shit,” you slam the door on them, standing in shock for a few seconds. It wasn’t about him hooking up with her, he could do what he wanted. But it wasn’t everyday you saw something like that in person, and you had to give credit to Christine, she was taking it like a champ.
It gave you an out for the night, you were too high for anything but breathing.
Thank god for Christine Kiko. And really bless her for catching up with you in record time spurting apologies while wiping her mouth clean. “I know, I know, you guys were hooking up, but-”
You stop her sorry, “how’d you know?” She rakes her long nails through her hair to untangle it, it comes out clean instantly. “My dad is super simping for his dad and we vacationed together this year so he had me try and make Harvey happy so he could tell his dad they should do business.”
Christine has no idea how fucked up that sounds, “what would he have done if you were his son?” She doesn’t miss a beat, “Harvey swings both ways, doesn’t he?”
Music shakes your feet, Christine’s hair looks soft. It’s black and pin-straight, you reach out, you comb your fingers through without a hint of struggle. “Wow, you take such good care of your hair.”
“Rice water, you’re welcome.” She looks back at the door, “I need some things to finish up, but um, you feeling alright? It looks like it’s settling in.” It is. You’re busy twisting the cap on your water bottle, the small ridges skate across your thumb to create a soothing repetition. “Yeah.”
It makes her smile, “yeah? You should go outside, the trees look fucking awesome, even when it’s dark.” You thank her for the idea, and stand still for a little too long after Christine retreats back to the wine closet. You think it’s your brain trying to remember how to walk, you blame the bass reverberating off the flooring.
The second you’re able to actually pick your feet up, you move three steps before noticing it feels like you have lead boots on. You clomp towards the couches, perched on the side, sitting pretty, was your best friend.
Making eye contact, you replay what just happened. You can’t stop it, it’s uncontrollable, bubbling from your throat, you laugh. Loudly. The longer you laugh, the more intense it gets. Ally has no idea what’s going on, but you assume the giggle is contagious.
“What! Tell me!” You’re trying, but you can’t catch your breath. Each time you try to push more than two words out, you’re back to laughing so hard your shoulders shake. There’s only one reason you’re finding this so funny, you try to collect yourself. “I…” Another round, Ally’s right with you; you think she’s just excited to see what’s got you so giddy.
“Okay, okay. Christine Kiko gave me some shrooms, and they, like, just hit. Also, I just caught her sucking Harvey’s dick.” Ally sputters, “what?!” A hand covers her mouth, the imagery catching up to her. “Oh my god!” You nod, she said it better than you could. “And you saw this?!” It’s like the idea is unbelievable to her. “Uh huh, right in front of me.”
Ally presses the hand covering her mouth, to her cheek. A moment of silence, until she starts to laugh just like you did. You almost copy, until she stops and gives you an ironclad look, “wait, did you say mushrooms?”
You pretend your mind is exploding. “I’m experiencing things I couldn’t explain right now.” Ally’s hair looks almost as soft as Christine’s. You grab a thick piece, breaking it into thirds and start to braid. It feels like rope, your fingers turn into a ball of yarn, fumbling into one useless clump.
“Are you okay? Matty and I were about to go upstairs.” Your eyes flash towards the stairs on instinct, then you're back at her. “Coming back down?” Ally grins and sends you a wink, “not if I give him a reason not to.” She drops her grin, “unless you need company, in that case, I’m here for you.”
Just because you chose to spend your night tripping, it doesn’t mean Ally has to ditch bedtime with her boyfriend. Wouldn’t that be an incredibly selfish thing to do? “I don’t need a trip sitter, I have myself. And Christine. Also, have you seen Prince?”
“Uh, no. He went off with Rocco the second we got here.” Rocco, the second you hear his name, you think of his hair, how does one achieve an afro? Would it be wrong to ask?
“Cool, cool, no doubt, no doubt.” Ally eyes you, she’s trying to make sure you’re fully okay before she pulls Matt upstairs. You flash a smile, it’s enough to have her drop her shoulders in relief. “You always have me, you know where I’ll be.”
“And I am so, so grateful for you, Ally Storm.” Because, you are. In your opinion, mushrooms make you emotional. You went from laughing to appreciative in one minute, suddenly you’re hugging your best friend while holding back tears. “You are so kind, and patient, and nice, and, like, so super supportive to me.”
Ally squeezes you right back, “you should do drugs more often, I’m loving the praise.” You pull back to wink at her, “it’s only cause you’re so great. Go do your boyfriend, since I can’t get any tonight.”
“You think sex on shrooms would be good?” The idea hadn’t occurred, but thinking about it makes you agree with her. “Sex on hallucinogens? That’s boyfriend behavior.” Ally pats your arm, “next time, invite me. I’ll let you know how it is.”
A twinkle in her eye appears, you dread what’s about to happen. “Sup, slugger?” The arm around you is entirely too heavy, but oddly comforting. Like a weighted blanket. “She took mushrooms.” You nod, Matt rubs your shoulder, you almost purr. “Having fun?” Normally, you have a love hate relationship with Matt. You both love to hate each other, but not seriously. Not that it’s been said, but you know Matt would protect you with anything in him if needed.
Tonight, right now, Matt is a solid force. “Permission to hug?” Ally’s eyes widen, she almost doubles down on the sentiment of doing drugs more often. “You wanna full on, front touch me?” Nevermind, Matt just ruined it, like he ruins everything. “Not anymore, you ruined it.”
“Oh, no, no, no. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.” Before you can try and dodge it, Matt’s got you in his hold. It’s very obvious he’s doing it for the pure enjoyment of annoying you, it’s almost endearing. Almost. You’d fight better at shoving him away but he’s got a warmth radiating from his chest and into yours.
Peter watches you bump hips across the room with Paul’s girlfriend, your fingers pull at her hair. A wild look crosses her face, two of you giggling.
“I didn’t know she was Ally’s friend.” Ethan scratches at his arm, Peter’s guard goes up. He knows why he’s surprised to know you were the friend in question, he doesn’t know why Ethan thinks so too.
Ethan shrugs and asks Peter about something, he can’t focus. “You know her?”
“Yeah, that’s my bio girl.”
Peter felt constricted, he doesn’t know why. “Wait, what? That’s my freshman.”
Ethan stares at the side of Peter’s head. “She’s not a freshman.” Peter sneers at his friend, “yeah, no shit.” Ethan kisses his teeth, “I invited her to the party.” He doesn’t know why, but Peter feels slightly challenged.
“So did I.” His arms cross over his chest, he mumbles the rest. “On the first day.”
“Funny. When I asked she said she had no plans.”
Peter can feel his jaw clench, he wants to kind of fucking punch him, if he’s being honest. And that makes him even more upset, because why is he so threatened? Ethan may have an inkling that his best friend wants you more than he does, but he also wants him to know he could have competition.
“Funny.” It’s clear Peter did not find it funny.
“She’s cool. You know, witty, kind, pretty…” Peter’s doing what he can to keep himself from walking away, he wants to scream that he had eyes on you first. But that’s an insane thought, only one that could be casted by a witch.
“She’s difficult and entitled.”
All Ethan hears is ‘she’s fucking perfect for me.’ And his mind was made up, you were no longer someone he’d pursue. You’re all Parker’s, because he wants you. Even if he won’t admit it, yet.
“So, you have no issue with me moving in on that?” Peter’s a little too quiet, choosing to nurse on his beer in hand. “Do what you want, man.” He finishes his drink, he looks back up at you, sharing a warm embrace with Paul.
“Cause, I don’t mind leaving it alone, if you want.” It takes a second, but Peter lightly shrugs. No words needed to be said, it told Ethan everything he needed to know. “You saw her first, it’s only fair.” It’s tiny, and it’s a microflash, but Peter grinned. What was understood, didn’t need to be explained.
Heavy steps found themselves at a familiar face.
“My roommate ditched me and this floor looks like a pirate ship.” You point down for good measure, Ethan’s a good sport and looks with you. “Is it moving?”
You nod quickly, glad he too can see the shifting boards. Ethan’s sweater catches your attention, it looks soft. By default he looks like a teddy bear, you can’t hold yourself back, latching yourself to the cashmere you run your hands over his back.
“It’s so soft.”
Ethan laughs, he has no issue returning the love. You melt under his touch, everything is so warm. “I can feel your hands.” Your lab partner knows exactly what’s going on, “yeah? What’d you take, X?”
You pull back to spread pixie dust from your fingertips, “magic mushrooms.” Lights flash in cohesion with the music, you’re awe at the sharp beauty. Swirls of color cloud your vision, loud bass rings your ears. Vibrations flow from your toes up to your knees, a circle of laughter around you is contagious.
You can’t stop the giggles, you weren’t sure who was laughing or why but it seemed so fitting.
You throw your head back, the room spins and you squeal when your waist is held tight.
“Ethan!” You hug him again, you can’t stop patting his sweater. “Wanna do some shots?” Ethan shakes his head, “no, you want some water.” You stop, “oh my god, yeah, that sounds so good.” Your lower back is nudged, you’re guided into the kitchen where you see a blur of motion.
Stumbling, your back collides into another body. You spin quickly, you can’t believe it’s taken this long to see him.
“Peter, hi!”
Your arms loop around his back, you pull him tight to you and sigh. He’s broader than Ethan, but his shirt can’t match Ethan’s sweater. Peter feels oddly frozen, you shuffle into him further, an awkward pat is granted to the middle of your back. “Hi.”
“No, no, like this.” You fix the placement, it’s like he’s never given a hug in his entire life. Peter’s offering no warmth, it feels like he’s just allowing you to have this moment. You give him an unsure glance when you pull back, “I’ll make you better, don’t worry.”
You’re stopped before you could try and teach Peter a proper hug. “Let’s not hug, Parker.” You blink wildly at your lab partner, before looking back at Peter, he has an unimpressed gaze on Ethan. “No hugs? You don’t like hugs?”
It’s unacceptable, you pull at Ethan’s arm. “Here, show him how it’s done.” Ethan tries to shake his head, you loop around his waist tightly. “See, Peter? This is how you hug.”
“I know how to hug.”
You smile and nudge away from the cashmere, your arms open wide. “Okay, show me.”
“No.”
A frown takes over, since he’s being mean, you can too.
“Fine. I don’t like your haircut, how about that?” Peter lacks the reaction you want him to give, “thank you.” You narrow your eyes at him, “Christine should’ve given you the mushrooms instead, you’re kinda grumpy.”
Ethan pushes you back, “okay, D.A.R.E. Water.” You took the bottle and looked between the two friends. “Be honest, did you guys know they were hooking up?”
Peter furrowed his eyebrows, you had the urge to rub it out. Ethan slapped your hand down. “Who?” You hold a finger up to pause the conversation, water has never tasted so clear.
“Mmm…” you blink awake. “Harvey and Christine. Did you think he wasn’t planning on me finding out? Was he fully prepared to try and bang me after he got head from another girl? Cause, I don’t think so.”
A song you haven’t heard before plays, it sends waves of warmth over your skin.
Ethan shrugs, “sounds like Harvey, yeah.”
You jeer around the plastic bottle, “boo.” Peter’s short circuiting in his brain. You were hooking up with Harvey? The pieces were muddling. His Harvey? That guy sucks. Peter reacts subconsciously, grabbing whatever you handed him. An empty water bottle, you smile, “thanks!” He grunts before tossing it in the kitchen sink.
“This party would be so much better if Taylor Swift was playing.”
It takes everything in Peter not to roll his eyes, Ethan one ups him in a second.
“Which album?”
You gasp, Peter swears he sees a sparkle in your eyes. For a split second he regrets not asking you the same thing. “Any of them! Do you like her too?”
Peter thought his best friend read between the lines from their earlier conversation. He assumes he didn’t.
“She’s alright, I have a few of her vinyls.” Record scratch, Peter just lost you. Your hand grabbed Ethan’s shoulder, you leaned in closer and gave him doe eyes. “No way, I don’t believe you. Which ones?”
Ethan laughs, “I have them in my room, swear to god. I like her sister albums.”
Peter watches your hand slide down his sleeve until you latch around his wrist, “show me.” Ethan shrugs, “alright, we can-” Peter steps in front of him, the path blocked.
“Keznek.” As in, you’re not doing what I think you’re doing, right?
“Parker.” As in, do you really think that low of me?
A third name is brought into the mix, Peter looks down, you’re smiling big at him and for a second he feels like he’s smiling back.
“Who’s that?”
You point at yourself, “me.”
He finally has your name, it’s fitting. He doesn’t think he’s ever thought a name could fit a person, until he heard yours. A weird urge to compliment it tugs at him, he buries it down. Witch.
Attention back on Ethan, “you swear you have them?” He’s almost offended you’d ask, “promise.” You look to Peter, “can you confirm?” Peter sucks in a breath through his teeth, he shakes his head slowly. “I can’t.”
The answer is obvious, “I have to verify, if you’re telling the truth you’ll win cool points forever.” Plan impeded, the chapter president just walked through the kitchen, a gleam in the wolves eye. His hand clapped Peter’s chest, the light abuse caused you to frown.
“Nice to see you’re making friends with Parker.”
You flip the script, a fake smile. “I’m sorry, who are you?” Ethan laughed behind you and was immediately silenced with a harsh glare from Trent. “Watch it, Keznek.” Peter’s face hardened at the tone.
“You’re taking my advice, I love to see it.”
Peter has his eyes on you, it takes strength to ignore it. “Wanna talk about advice? You should play some Taylor Swift.” Trent scoffs, “get fucked.” Peter speaks up before you have a chance, “hey, woah.” The head of the house wasn’t about to be talked to like he was a chapter officer, even if he was. His response was pushing Peter back and walking away.
“I understand why he’s the president,” you watch the room swirl together. “He’s super mature.” Smacking your lips, you blindly reach for Ethan. “Do you see these fucking lights right now?” Peter glances around, it’s the same party lighting they use each time.
“Are they dragging?” You focus in, when you move your head slow trails of light follow. “Yeah, woah.” Peter clears his throat, the sound cupped around your ears. “Your friend here, freshman?” You spin, “who’s friend?”
Peter looks at Ethan for a second, you’re busy trying to pull at a loose thread on Peter’s sleeve. “How are you getting home tonight?” You twirl the strand around your finger, the tension snaps it. When the blood returns to your fingertip, it warms your entire hand.
“Dunno yet. I’ll figure it out later.” You look down at your feet, they seem like they’re a million miles away from you. The floor shifts underneath you, it makes your knees shake, you clutch Ethan’s arm to balance yourself. “Pirate ship?” You nod, “ahoy, matey.”
Peter shifts when you take him in, more or less just focused on his face. He stands a little taller, then questions it, because why would he care about how tall you perceived him to be? “Peter,” he waits. Pointing behind you, “wanna do a shot? Ethan refused, like he hates me or something.” You can’t stop looking at him, the lights dance over his face, casting him in an angelic glow like no other.
“You think mixing shots with mushrooms is a good idea?” You move around, like your body couldn’t stand holding still. “Just one.” One wouldn’t hurt, and it’s not like he’s doing it for you or anything, he planned on having a shot anyways. You were just another person to pour for.
“Sure. Pick the poison.” You answer quickly, an honest response. “Rat.” Ethan starts to laugh and it’s contagious, you start giggling too. You don’t know why he’s laughing, but it feels good to have someone to laugh with. Peter tilts his head to the ceiling with a heavy sigh, “no, freshman. I meant booze.”
“Oh! Not vodka, I hate vodka, I can taste it in anything, even when Ally mixes it with Hawaiian Punch. So, please never give me vodka. I hate it.”
Peter smirks at Ethan, “so, vodka?” You sputter, you wonder if you confused love and hate in your speech. You shake your head quickly, “no, no, no, Peter. I hate vodka, please don’t give me any.”
Ethan slides a bottle down to Peter, it’s a party classic. Peter waits on you, “this good enough for you, princess?” It was sarcastic as all hell, but it still made you feel warm and fuzzy. “Yes, prince.” Peter just shook his head while he poured them up.
Raised glasses, you wait for the toast. “Here’s to A’s, C’s, and double D’s.” The words made you send a glare to Peter, it seemed like he was waiting for it. “You know, like grades?” It’s not what he meant, all three of you knew it, but you couldn’t fight him on it either. It still works, a cheer is a cheer.
Normally, you’d find Fireball warming, tonight, you find it burning. You almost choke on it, holding it in your mouth for longer than you should’ve, the instant sting had caught you off guard. “Jesus Christ, freshy. Swallow.” It’s like you need a reminder, you’re able to take it down; a shutter takes over your body.
You turn to your lab partner, a sour look on your face. “Why did you let me do that? You’re supposed to be smart.” Ethan holds his hands up, you’re not about to throw him under the bus. “Hey, I tried. You’re the one that only wanted Parker’s opinion.”
SATURDAY MORNING, SEPTEMBER 9TH. CATHEDRAL HALL.
Peter was dragged out of his bed a little too early for a saturday in his opinion. He woke up to Trent hanging over his bed, poking him harshly on his shoulder. “The fuck do you want, Simpson?” If Peter had to guess what time it was by the shadow in his room, it was pushing early morning.
“Get up. We need to go somewhere.” Peter blinked quickly, dragging a heavy hand up to rub the sleep from his eyes. “Now?” Trent started to stab, Peter slapped his hand away. “The fuck, man?” His president wasn’t playing around. “Get the fuck up, Parker.”
Only when Peter sat up did Trent back away, “don’t wake anyone up. I need you downstairs in five.” When his door was shut, Peter squeezed his eyes shut and allowed himself to taste the idea of sleep one more time. Then, he got up, tugged on sweatpants and a hoodie, and silently crept downstairs.
Peter tried to ask what was going on, and where they were going, but Trent just kept saying, ‘you’ll see,’ and ‘shut the fuck up and trust me.’ It wasn’t until he was walking up the steps to Cathedral hall, he had an odd feeling, a slight buzz in his stomach. It heightened when they took a turn for the girls section.
“Hey, Simpson, if this is a planned parenthood thing-”
“Shut the fuck up, Parker.” Out of nowhere he stopped, Peter almost ran into him. Trent banged on an decorated door, a whiteboard with Ally’s name, the other one had been swiped, the name unclear. “I thought Ally was at the house?” Trent beat the door harder, “she is.”
Peter’s eyebrows furrowed, he was about to ask, yet again, why they were there. The answer came when the door flew open, eyes squinting at the hallway lighting, stands you. “You’re not Ally.”
Peter’s slightly surprised you’re home, he had no idea when or how you left last night. He also doesn’t really care.
“No shit,” you lightly scoffed when Trent shoved his way in, your shoulder hitting the doorframe. “Good morning to you, too, dick.” Peter gently walked in, making sure not to bump against you. It made you smile lightly, “good morning, Peter.” He nodded back, “morning.” Trent bounced on Ally’s bed, it produced a loud creak. “No wonder she’s always at the house.”
You sat on the edge of your own bed, gesturing to the spot next to you or your desk chair for a seating option for Peter; he chose the chair. Peter looked over your face while you woke up, your eyes puffy from being rubbed at, you stretched with arms over your head, a peek of skin showed your stomach.
“You look sick.” It snapped you from your daze, you frowned at Trent. “Thanks, it’s my natural beauty.” Trent pulled a sour look, “that’s what girls look like without makeup?” Peter doesn’t really notice a difference, and that’s not a bad thing. “It’s too early for your shit, Simpson.” He looks towards you, you poke your tongue out at Trent, a childish moment to prove you had someone on your side and not his.
Peter watches you lean back, velvety thighs on display. A hand goes behind your back, a plush resurfaced. Spider-Man sits on your lap, arms wrapped tight around his waist. He thinks it’s a squishmellow of some sort, he remembers he hooked up with a girl last year with at least twenty on her bed. She didn’t have a Spider-Man one though.
“How are you feeling?” You look tired, maybe a little hungover. Little to no energy. Peter thinks it’s the comedown of your previous night's choices. You grin, holding Spider-Man a little tighter. “Like a champ, you?”
Trent scoffs, “enough bullshit, wench. You know why we’re here.” Peter feels the hair on his neck stand up, Trent can be a prick, but he really has a vendetta against you. “Jesus Christ, Simpson. She’s a human being.” It’s the bare minimum, but it still makes you feel warm and fuzzy. “It’s okay, Peter. He’s just mad he can’t satisfy women.”
Trent flies up, “fuck you! I’m doing you a fucking favor and-” Peter stands up just as quick, pushing Trent back down with a hand on his shoulder. “Sit down, Simpson.” With Peter as mediator, you don’t worry about standing up for yourself.
“You’re not doing me a favor, I’m doing you a favor! You’re the one that couldn’t hold up your end of the bargain, you asshole!” Trent fights against Peter’s hold, “you’re the one that came to me!” You throw your Spider-Man to the side and step up, Peter backs up against your chest, literally using his body as a barrier. “You’re the one that involved Peter!”
Peter shoves hard on Trent’s chest, it sends him flying back into Ally’s bed. You step back, Peter’s doing his best to look between the two of you. It’s exasperated, “involved me in what?” It goes silent, you weren’t going to say anything, you were the one who told Trent to fix it. Trent’s the one that brought in Peter, Trent’s the one to surprise you with a visit.
Trent’s breathing is harsh, he’s more worked up than you are. You don’t know if it’s the situation or your comments, but you’re not saying a word until he does. “Look, your friend here, she’s the one that got us the intel on the other frats.” Trent’s a lot more gentle this time around, you think it may have something with the way Peter’s looking at him, daring him to try and make a move.
Peter glances back at you, you look away, a poster more interesting. “She needs something in return and I can’t help her. I told her to ask you and I’d look the other way, but someone had to be difficult.”
“I held up my end, Simpson. You do the same.” Trent huffed, “I fucking told you-” he lowered his voice at Peter’s glare, “- that I couldn’t do anything. I told you to ask Parker and you were the one that stormed out all pissed. I brought him here, isn’t that good enough?”
Your arms cross, no, it wasn’t good enough. “I never wanted to involve Peter, I told you that last night. I just wanted you to figure out a way to fix it.” Trent throws his arm out at Peter, “I did! He’s fucking here! He’s gonna fucking fix it!”
Peter feels like he’s going crazy, “fix what?” His chapter president rubs at his forehead, a heavy sigh. “You need to pledge… Fuck, what was his name?” You roll your eyes, you have little to no hope. “Isaac Barns.” Trent nods, “yeah, him. Parker, all I need you to do is pledge him and this-” an allover gesture to your body, “-goes away.”
Peter takes a second to let it sink in, he almost laughs, but it seems a little too real to be a joke. “Dirty rushing, really? You do know what’s at stake if I say yes, right?” Trent’s jaw looks like it’s about to break into a thousand pieces with the tension it’s under. “Yes, Parker, I know what I’m asking.” Peter runs his tongue over his teeth, “right, so you understand why I have to say no.”
You jump in, your hand on Peter’s arm, pulling him to face you. He’s staring at the placement, it’s sending a burn up and down, radiating heat. You pull away before he can shake your hold off, “please?” Peter steps away from Trent with a final warning glance, “tell me, freshman. Are you in a sorority?” You frown, “no.” He nods, like he already knew the answer. “Right. And are you aware of what could happen to me if I agree?” You have an idea, and it tells you it wouldn’t be good. “That’s if you get caught, you have Trent’s go ahead.”
Peter laughs, he doesn’t give a shit Trent’s right there. “You think I trust him to have my back? He’d throw me under the bus in a second.” Peter doesn’t know what you know, you look in Trent’s eyes when you respond, making it clear that that would never happen. “Then trust me, and trust me when I say he won’t.”
Trent looks away from Peter, he makes the connection in a second.
“What do you have on Simpson?” You sputter, you feel a flush of warmth coat you. “I’m not like… some blackmailer or anything.” Trent shouts out from the bed, “ha!” Your eyes flash to the same poster from before, nothing has changed. “Oh, I’m sorry, Mr. President. Do you want to share with the peanut gallery?” Peter raises his hands, displeased, “don’t insult me and ask for a favor in the same breath.”
“Look, Parker, just fucking pledge the kid, alright? It stays between us. Don’t think I don’t have shit to lose by letting this happen. I have the same risk you do.” Peter disagrees, “you’re not the one pledging.” Trent stands up, “but I’m cutting whoever she tells me. We’re both playing dirty.”
Peter’s trying to think about it logically, he just doesn’t understand why. You have all the answers, they’re only there because of you. “Why?” You pause, “what, this guy your boyfriend or something?” You shake your head quickly, “no, no, no. Not at all. He doesn’t even know I’m doing this. He’s just a person I know who’s rushing, that’s it.”
Peter kisses his teeth and shakes his head in disbelief, “yeah, I don’t know about that.” Total defeat, you were at a loss. Your answer was Trent, if Peter wouldn’t do it, Trent needed to find someone who would. “Trent,” it comes out as a whine, a defiant toddler pointing at Peter.
“C’mon, Parker. Think about this. You’re smarter than your own good.” Peter sizes his president up, he really doesn’t like what he’s implying. “And I’m supposed to trust you?” You push on Peter’s arm, “no, you’re supposed to trust me. Trent won’t touch you, no matter your answer. Even though I really wish it was yes.”
Peter’s doing his best to push down all emotion, because if he wasn’t, he’d find out that he wanted to say yes. Just because you asked him. And that’s not who he is, or what he does. He’s known you for a week and he’s about to put his entire academic career at hand, it’s dehumanizing to himself. Witch.
“Fine.” You cheer, Peter’s whipped into a side hug. He claws your arms away from him, “I didn’t say yes. I’ll think about it, okay?” You nod, it’s enough for you, “thank you so much, Peter. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
Trent throws his hands up, “hello? You’re welcome.” You sneer at him, “you did nothing but put it all on Peter.” Peter tilts his head, he didn’t think about it like that, but you’re right. “You’re insufferable and will never find a man to put up with that.” That was a blow, a harsh one at that. You’re pretty good at brushing things off, or firing back, but Trent went a little too far. He hit that deep down, hidden, insecurity.
You just really wanted to go back to sleep, the thought of Peter in your room no longer slightly excited you. You just wanted to be alone. “Jesus fucking Christ, Trent. Who the fuck says shit like that?” You shrug, “it’s obvious he was just giving me constructive criticism.” You try to joke, it doesn’t really work.
Peter looks down at you, it’s like you sunk down into the floor. Trent made you feel small. “It’s not funny, nothing about that was funny. That was fucked up, Simpson, the fuck is wrong with you?” There’s not an ounce of remorse on his face either, “sorry.” Peter wants to break his arm, instead he shoves him towards the door, nothing near gentle. “You’re a fucking dick.”
“Yeah, and you just wanna stick yours in her.” If he wouldn’t be at grounds of expulsion from the frat, Peter would’ve laid him the fuck out right then and there. “Shut the fuck up, Simpson. Just leave it alone.” He does, and throws the door open before parting you with a middle finger.
Peter pauses at the door, his eyes on your figure. It’s not like he cares about you or anything, Trent was a dick, an uncalled for amount of mean. “Don’t listen to him, he’s still reeling from that ‘can’t please a woman,’ comment.” You give a small smile, “thanks, Peter.”
Peter’s hand holds the door handle, a tight lipped grin. He doesn’t know why, but he feels like he just has to tell you. Clearing his throat, “hey, freshman?” You perk up, he finds himself looking down at your mouth, eyes trailing towards your collarbone. Peter stops himself, it’s not about that right now.
“You’re not… you’re not totally insufferable.”
Something about it makes you explode, you can’t stop the cheek hurting grin. For a second, Peter matches it. “Are you saying I’ll find a man to put up with me?” Peter shrugs a shoulder, “the world is pretty big, freshman. There’s gotta be at least one.”
At least Peter won’t think you’ll die alone, he might even be at your side. “Thanks, Peter. For everything. And for thinking about it, it means a lot to me.” Peter closing the door on himself, he briefly pauses, “just because I said I’d think about it, doesn’t mean I’ll do it.” You nod, “I know.”
“Good. I just didn’t want you to get disappointed.” Your eyes brighten, “you care about disappointing me?”
It goes unanswered, instead, Peter takes a deep inhale. “I’ll see you around.” With that, you were alone with Spider-Man once more.
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12TH, ESU DINING HALL.
The plastic chair next to Peter slides out, nickel legs scratch the tile underneath them.
“So, how are we feeling about a verdict?”
Peter doesn’t even flinch, he takes a bite of his sandwich. It was better before it was ruined by the presence of a demonic presence. Your hands drum on the table like you’re building yourself up for a yes, Peter thinks it’s funny you find him so easy.
“It’s been two days, freshman.” You huff dramatically, “not a freshman.”
“You act like one.”
This is the part where you question your attraction towards him, it’s proof to the saying ‘you can’t pick who you love.’ You lean closer, it’s not about semantics. Peter pulls back when you get too close, he must be scared of another hug.
“It’s a pretty easy answer, Peter. If you won’t do it, fine. But your president better figure out another way and quickly. We already have the PNM list, you make the choice sunday.”
It isn’t his problem but the more he knows about it, the more it becomes his. Peter can’t deny the curiosity, for a witch you have no real magic, beyond what you’ve casted on him.
Peter sighs, “alright, explain it to me. Sell it to me.” You sit straighter and fix your hair, clearing your throat you interlock your fingers on the table and begin to pitch. “I’m going on the ski trip this year, yay you.” You pout dramatically, “I needed money because my boyfriend isn’t a member of the frat and I wasn’t budgeted in.” Your words were a nod towards Ally, as if she couldn’t pay for it herself if she needed to.
Peter wants to bang his head against the table, there’s no fucking way he had to spend a week with you in a house. That’s constant communication. That’s hell.
“We bet every year on a member that makes it in, if we win, we get the money. I upped the stakes this year, and I know someone who signed up to rush.” You smile and poke at his arm, it’s solid. Peter looks down at your finger, you pull back and finish.
“That’s where you come in. You pick him.”
Peter crosses his arms over his chest while he tilts his chair back, he’s mulling it over in his mind. He looks over your face while he pokes at his cheek with his tongue, if that’s his concentration face, you hope to make him think a lot more.
“What do I get out of it?” In Peter’s mind, it’s a bit unfair. He’s putting his reputation, spot in the frat and possibly academic probation on the line. And he gets nothing out of it. He doesn’t even want anything in return, or nothing he can think of at the moment at least. It still feels like he has to bargain for something, he’d regret it later.
You try to hide the shock, you didn’t think Peter was that kind of guy. You didn’t know him, but you didn’t take him for a sexual favors type of person. You wanted to hook up with him, sure. But when he felt like it was owed to him, it felt icky.
“Oh,” you look around the room, your voice lowers. The deal took a dirty turn. “What, um…” You look back at him before escaping eye contact, you don’t feel as bold. “What did you have in mind?”
You didn’t hide the shock well, Peter’s chair is back on four legs with a slam. “No, god no.” Okay, he wasn’t asking for sex, but god no? Peter worded it wrong, you took it as a personal offense. “Not…” He’s not even going to try and explain that one out, he ditches the part where he would try to say ‘not that I wouldn’t have sex with you, because I would, but…’
“I’m not asking for you to fuck me, I just meant I’m putting a lot on the line for a girl who assaulted me and a guy I barley like.” Assault is a harsh word, you’d fight him on it but the last part mattered more. You could give him the dirt on Trent, he said if anyone knew he would prefer it to be Peter.
“Wanna know what I have on Trent?” You have his attention, suddenly Peter looks very interested in what you have to say. He nibbles on his bottom lip for a second before nodding, for this part, you really lean in.
“He failed out. The school sent him a letter saying he was dismissed, he had a fourteen average.” Peter’s trying to connect the dots, for once, he truly had no idea what was going on in the frat house. “His dad donated eighty-six grand, anonymously, and the next day? Bam. Reenlisted and all roles reinstated, like nothing ever happened.” Peter’s not surprised one bit, it’s very on brand for the Simpson family, to pay their way out of trouble. At least he can say you didn’t leave him empty handed, it’s good ammo to have in the back of his pocket.
“I’ll consider your request more seriously.” It’s something, and you’ll celebrate it, you pull him into a hug, just for a quick second to squeal in his ear. You’re shrugged off in a second, you don’t care. “Thank you! See, I just knew I picked the good one!”
The good one?
You’re up and pushing the seat in, your bag hung over a shoulder. “I’ll see you friday?” In relation to the weekly party, he nods slowly, like you’re an idiot. “I do live there, yes.” You’re unfazed, you’ve come to realize he’s just a mildly grumpy person. It’s mostly cute.
“Will you let me know then, is that enough time?” Peter will do anything to have you leave, he wants five minutes of peace with his lunch before he has thermodynamics. “Yeah, sure, whatever.” Your eyes sparkle, he has to look back at his plate. “Thank you, Peter. You’re the bestest.”
You really, truly are a witch. Because his sandwich tasted a whole lot sweeter when you walked away. It turned into sog the second you placed yourself at Ally and Paul’s table. Ally’s eyes flashing over to his, a grin when he was caught looking your way. He finished in record time, he needed to get out of the room, it was starting to get a little too warm for his comfort.
Ally started in the second you placed yourself across from her, eyes flashing to where you previously were. “Hanging out with Parker?” You shrug, if it helps getting her off your back, it helps. “He’s cute.” A squeal, she pulls at her boyfriend's arm. “Did you hear that? Matty, ask Parker if he’s into her.”
Matt crushes a coke can, a burp follows. “No.” Ally’s face scrunches up, “why not?” Matt’s swiping at his phone, you can’t tell what game he’s playing, the glare from the lights are too bad. “Cause it’s not my business, or yours.” Ally pulls away from him entirely, her arms crossed over her chest in a huff. Uh oh, she’s mad.
“Babe, can you get me a water? My wallet is in my backpack.” When she makes no move, he peeks over, “please? I can’t pause this level.” It’s a huff from his girlfriend, “what? You’re mad at me now? Look, I can’t even ask him if I wanted to, he’s leaving.” You look over your shoulder, Peter’s walking out with headphones stuffed in his ears, blind to the outside noise. How lucky.
“Yeah, good thing you don’t live together or anything, Matt.” It has his total attention, “no need for that hostility, honey. If you want me to ask, I’ll ask.” It’s the right move, and he played right into Ally’s hand. A cluster of kisses to his cheek, “thank you, Matty. Love you.” A smile’s back on his face, his reward was his request being honored.
The second Ally’s out of earshot you laugh at her boyfriend. “She plays you like a fool.”
Matt doesn’t care one bit. “Yeah, love makes you do that. You’ll find out, she-devil.”
You just hope you’re not the fool.
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13TH, QUEENS, NEW YORK.
A six car pileup on the bridge caught Spider-Man’s attention, adrenalin courses his veins, any traces of that six egg omelet from Linda weighing him down vanishes. A screech of his name, he clocks it instantly. A woman, barely fourty. Spider-Man knows who it is, it’s the reporter that called him a Spider-Menace last week. Oh, how the mighty fall.
A head tilt at the woman, she’s panicking. Thrashing in her seat, crumpled between glass and leather. She’s begging him for help, he watches for a moment before speaking over the screams. “Calm down, I’m gonna help you. Just felt like being a menace.” Tears, she speed runs apologies, tells him it’s just a job and her son loves him.
“Alright, alright, come here.’ A grown woman, clinging to his hip is almost comedic. “Thank you, thank you, thank you…” Spider-Man doesn’t need to hear it a million times, it doesn’t mean much to him after the first one. “You’re alright, just wait over here for the fire department, okay?”
There’s countless other shouts, he’s already running back up the freeway. Spider-Man has no plans to stay in the city after this, no, instead Peter is going to take the long train back and listen to a podcast. But right now, Spider-Man has a job to do.
CATHEDRAL HALL.
Three copies of the same page, everyone calls a name.
Ally starts, “I call Conner Frise.”
Prince next, “Sam Mason.”
Ally pokes your shoulder, “c’mon, what’s your pick?”
You pretend to think about it, two pairs of eyes waiting expectantly. You grin, “Isaac Barns.” Confidence spills, “and I’m gonna win.”
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH, SIGMA NU CHAPTER HOUSE
Peter’s clouded in infatuation. If he was animated, he’d have hearts and stars swirling around his head. Maybe it was the booze that had him feeling so loose, for once dropping the urge to push you away, and to pull you closer. Or maybe it was you. All he could smell was your perfume, it choked him in the right ways. Something he’d be smelling long after you were gone, something that made him want to breathe in against your neck.
You haven’t left him alone all night, circling back over and over until all he could think about was you, you, you.
He didn’t know a neck could be so pretty, how he’d kiss over your pulse and hope it would race as much as his. And he never really noticed hair, until it framed your face. Peter was never much on picking up sounds, but now he’s heard your laugh, the one he pulled from you, he’d never be able to unhear it.
And your voice. It whispered a song into his ears, it sent him leaning in, begging for more of the inflections. Peter didn’t care what you were talking about, as long as you were speaking to him, he’d listen. He wasn’t one to notice clothes, only when they fit just right or left little to the imagination. But on you, everything was your color.
Peter can’t think of anything else but your lips, they’re puffed while you spin words. Velvet tumbles produced, hints of a smile around your ‘S’s. It’s like you don’t notice him getting closer, as he steps forward, you step back. You weren’t trying to escape, it was subconscious, you were making more room for him, you don't realize he doesn't want space.
“It was really kind of sad, because the whole time you were rooting for the main character,” he’d asked you about a book he saw in your room. He doesn’t really care about it.
“Right,” one step closer.
“But then it all comes down at the end and you realize he really wasn’t a good guy,” Peter takes another step, your back brushes the brick wall. Little pricks dig into your shirt, it doesn’t stop you.
“And then?”
You smile, “this is where it gets good,” Peter leans his hand on the wall next to your head, you make no notice. “It is.” It’s more of a statement than a question, he’s relaying it to his own situation.
“You find out he set up his friend,” it was the twist, you’d been setting it up, but Peter has no reaction. You wonder if he was even listening to you, maybe it would’ve been better if he had read it himself.
“Are you listening to me? Cause I just kind of just spoiled the whole thing.”
Peter can’t stop himself, he leans in. His head hangs low, you raise your chin to look in his eyes. How have you still not picked up on his hints? “Why’d he set him up?” You hum, a sparkle forms in your eyes, he was listening.
“Well, if we're talking about my personal analysis, I think it’s cause-”
Your lips are pillowy, puffed under his mouth as they’re wrapped around your words. Your skin is warm under his hands, he can feel your hips burning his palms over your clothes. Peter tugs you closer while simultaneously pushing you further into the brick, when you hum into his kiss, he licks your bottom lip.
Open mouth kisses, your hands tug at the curls on the back of his neck, he’s not one for girls playing with his hair. But you, he wants you to touch wherever you want. He can’t fucking breathe, but he doesn’t care, you’re enough of a breath of fresh air. Peter feels more alive in this moment than he has in a long time.
You pull from him, puffs of air tumble. Peter’s desperate for more, you’re just so sweet. Wet marks dot from your jaw to your neck, your hands tug at the lapels of his flannel. “Peter,” it’s breathless, he wonders if it’s the kiss or him.
Hands tuck under your thighs, you gasp as you’re pulled up to equal height on the wall. Your legs loosely straddle his waist, nails digging into his shoulder when he hums over the middle of your throat between gentle bites and smoothing his tongue over the attack. “Fuck,” it’s a whimper, you don’t mean to, but fuck.
Maybe he shouldn’t have cornered you like this, but what’d you expect looking at him like that?
Peter retraces his steps, all you can think is that he tastes as sweet as he feels. It was everything you’d been pining for, and more. You were screaming in color, each grip of his hands felt like water paint, soaking deep and spreading.
Would it be selfish if you wished he felt the same?
“Parker, you out here?”
You squeak, your feet hit the ground. Peter’s head is spinning, his instinct to get as far away as possible. “Yeah,” it’s airy. He clears his throat, you look over his face, he’s avoiding eye contact. “Peter,” you feel a jolt when he backs away. A stab when he steps around the corner, you try to follow, he’s quicker.
You feel everything crumble when you realize he doesn’t want anyone to know he was with you.
“Where you at? We’re mixing everclear for the PNM’s.”
“Peter,” it’s on deaf ears. He doesn’t even look at you, how could he kiss you like that and then act like it was nothing? Why would he kiss you like that if it meant nothing?
“Right here,” you watch his back disappear. “Tequila if we’re evil, beer to make them puke.” His frat brother laughs, “you’re a sick man, Parker.”
It really, really doesn’t feel nice to be left behind in the cold. Especially when he just made you feel so warm. And it really doesn’t feel right when you want to cry, and it feels humiliating when you give him a grace period, just so you didn’t follow him from the back of the house. Just so no one would see you, just so no one would know what just happened.
Just so you could keep it to yourself.
You feel nothing when a shoulder hits yours, your fingers feel hot from the contrast of the breezy outdoors to the crowded, humid room of bodies. Ally’s arm hangs over your neck, you want to scream.
Peter’s eyes catch your frown, he should’ve done more. But if he doesn’t understand anything, how would his frat brothers? He feels bad, and a little more sober than he should be, a little too sober to have done what he just did. A line of shots, Peter adds an two extra, but he doesn’t add everclear, he chooses Fireball.
A pink, plastic shot glass slid in front of you. You look up, Peter’s waiting and watching, he raises his own. “Cheers, freshman.” It’s something, he’s waiting on your call, you’re so close and you can’t blow it now. You plaster on a smile and shake Ally’s arm off, you raise it up.
“Cheers, Parker.”
Peter must’ve had more than he thinks, because wow, what a gross feeling.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17TH, SIGMA NU CHAPTER HOUSE
Peter does his best to be a good person, part of that is knowing when you fuck up. And what he did at his party on friday, was a fuck up. It wasn’t that he particularly cared about you, or your feelings, but he could admit that he pulled a shitty move. So shitty he dodged you the rest of the night and left you high and dry with his answer about your favor.
You didn’t even have a way to try and contact him, other than beating down his door but even you knew that would be a bad idea. Which leads him to now, standing on the front lawn, with thirty two potential pledges.
Peter’s turn to bid. A terrible idea. But all he could think about was getting back in your good graces and how much it fucking annoyed him to want that. Peter can feel Trent’s eyes burning into him, he takes a step forward, boldness in his chest.
“I bid Isaac Barns.”
It would either be the worst or best decision of his life and for whatever reason, you’re worth the gamble.
CATHEDRAL HALL
its.parker requested to follow you.
Your eyes widened, suddenly you’re very awake. Peter’s the one that kissed you, Peter’s the one that walked away, Peter’s the one that ignored you. Peter’s the one that followed you. Mixed messages, but it proved something. It wasn’t his main with ten pictures, it was his personal, his finsta, the one full of his personality.
You nibble on your bottom lip, it shouldn’t be that easy for him. Tapping on his account you hit the request button, just because you follow him doesn’t mean he gets to follow you. Mind spinning, you replay friday night again.
The tension eased and multiplied in one action. Peter had made you feel butterflies in the deepest pits of your stomach, when he kissed down your neck, when he wrapped your legs around his waist, when he went in for more, when he kissed you first.
Even thinking about it makes your cheeks hurt from a grin, you squeal out and kick your feet in your bed. Peter Parker kissed you, and it meant something. It had to, something tells you that Peter doesn’t jump without thinking.
Peter’s holding his breath while refreshing his page, still no notifications. He’s worried he blew it that night, not that it matters, it was just a kiss. Everyone kisses, if you really think about it, kisses don’t mean much. At least that’s what he tells himself.
spider.luvr66 requested to follow you.
If he acts now, he’d be a bit crazy. You hadn’t responded to him, but he doesn’t care. He’ll wait a couple minutes, then respond. It feels like his brain is melting, he’s not supposed to, and doesn’t feel like this. It’s against who he is now.
But, fuck, you make it difficult for him to not think about you. Peter swears you’re a witch.
Accept. spider.luvr66 is now following you.
Follow request accepted, you are now following its.parker.
You sit up, it was quick, you wonder if he was waiting for the notification. It doesn’t matter, you have the Peter Parker bible in your hands, and you were about to do some research.
You finally had access to his posts, and you were about to scroll through every single one. But the most recent one was the most important of all. A picture of Peter, crossed arms back to back with a slightly familiar face. The caption told you everything you needed to know about Peter.
‘big brother season.’
You had your bid and he posted the proof.
Whatever he did friday was forgiven. That wasn’t who he was, but this, putting himself on the line for you, this was his true character and whether he wanted you to notice that or not, you did.
And it was a bold act for a guy who pretended he didn’t kiss you breathless.

more than friends ! *ੈ✩‧₊˚ - in which you and Medi finally figure out your feelings for eachother ⋆·˚ ༘ *
⇢ ˗ˏˋ characters: Medicine Pocket
⇢ ˗ˏˋ important note: this is going to be my one and only reverse:1999 post. I honestly don't play the game enough to keep up with all the new characters, and that's why I don't think I will post for re:99 again... super sorry!!
⇢ ˗ˏˋ a/n: this is like super unrealistic... why did I think of this, it's very poorly executed!!
masterlist
“Medi I need your help”, you stood in their doorway with disheveled hair, that one could tell was previously done and a half finished outfit. “You look… like you previously looked good”, Medi eyed you up and down.
You two had known each other for as long as you could walk. People would consider you best friends, although that is an understatement. You guys were more like… people who were tied together by the wrist.
“I know I know, but I seriously need your help”, by now you had entered their lab and a dog started jumping at you. “Help with what”, Medi looked back to whatever they were working on before, some tool in their hand, and eyes no longer interested in looking at you.
You took a really deep breath. Like really deep. You could have exploded right then and there, from embarrassment or from taking in too much air at once.
“I have a date today, and I… need to practice before this date”, your thumbs were twisting around each other like a young couple dancing.
“Practice what? Dancing around your words like an Idiot?-”
“Practice kissing”
Medis' tool fell onto the floor, and silence laid upon the room. Medi looked at you like you had just committed the most heinous crime, and you stared back with a weird smile (?) and a really REALLY red face.
You don’t know why you found this to be a weird request. You definitely kissed them once before. Granted, you were ten years old and you and Medi swore that you guys would get married when you were old. You had a fake marriage on the playground that day. A real marriage never took place.
Why did you guys never get married?
“And why am I your candidate for this?”, were the first words that came out of Medis’ mouth. “Because if I mess up, you won’t try to pretend but laugh at my face, and I need the honesty right now”, was the only explanation you could find.
Medis’ stomach already felt weird at the idea of you going out on a date. The idea of you practicing kissing on them, to then go off and kiss someone else was just… wrong?
But why did it feel so wrong? It’s not like you and Medi were a thing.
“No thank you” “Come on Medi I need help”, you really did look desperate. Medi found it a little funny how you were begging to kiss them.
Another long silence. By now you were standing right by them.
“Ugh. Fine. But you owe me one”, Medi reluctantly agreed, yet seemed to refuse to get out of their chair. “Obviously I owe you one. Anything you want literally”, this was going to hurt your wallet.
“Uhm… alright”, suddenly the air felt thick. You felt if you were going to take another breath you might explode, or choke on the lack of oxygen in the room.
And Medi felt the same, and neither of you knew.
“Just…”, Medi was as flushed as a tomato already, and since you couldn’t bring yourself to do anything, Medi seemed it was their mission to move.
They brushed your hair behind your ear, and left their hand on their cheek to pull you down. You bend down to their level, since they were still sitting in that stupid chair, and your lips met Medis’.
For just a quick moment, and you both pulled away again.
None of you would have expected Medi to do what he did, but he pulled you back in for another kiss.
And for another one.
And another one.
Your lips stayed on Medis’ long enough that you had the time to think about how you felt. Everything felt like it brought up feelings that you had long buried deep inside you, something that you had hidden not just from the world, but also from yourself.
Everything felt right. Finally, right.
Your lips parted again, and you could only look at Medis’ face for a second, before they turned away, yet their ears were a burning red as well.
Suddenly you darted out of the room.
“Where the fuck are you going?!”, Medi shot up from their chair, face still red as ever.
“To cancel my fucking date what the fuck do you think?!”, you shouted back from down the hallway.
Suddenly Regulus looked around the corner. “Oh did you guys finally figure out whatever was going on between you two?”, if an Apple could facepalm, he would.
“Shut up Regulus”, you and Medi said in sync.
extra:
Back in Medis’ room, you were sitting on their bed, and they were on their chair, when they suddenly turned around to you.
“Remember when I said that you would owe me one for the kiss?”, Medi asked.
“Which you said right before not letting go of my face for a good while? Yeah I remember”, you replied with that stupid grin of your face which Medi loved hated. His face took on a little red color again.
“If you kiss me again we’re quits”

I was slightly bored and couldn't decide on what to do... and then I remembered the Hunger Games Simulator existed.
And I have been watching too much Dan and Phil lately...
One thing lead to another and I eventually ended up with the following:
The Phangry Games
Naming logic went something like this: Hunger to Hungry. Gotta insert the infamous Ph at the beginning. Phangry.
Also yes Pastel Phil is accidentally named Punk Phil I didn't notice the mistake until after I began.
And it turned out 1000% more entertaining than I ever thought it could be.
So right off the bat, we have BIG Dan and Craftie Dan planning their fishing trip while Hiatus Dan is staying in character and fucking right off.
Then a couple of them are fighting for bags but the bloodbath is staying pretty safe right now.
In fact, there is only 1 death during the bloodbath.
Thought that meant that Day 1 was going to be a slow start but I SPOKE WAY TOO SOON! First, one of the craftie boys bites the dust to an infection of all things. Apparently HE doesn't provide medical care for infections.
Interactive Introverts Phil also tried to get rid of the current Phil but he managed to escape. So really, no harm no foul.
Then the Acid Rain started and DAMN DAN AND PHIL (spoiler: especially Dan) CAN NOT SURVIVE ACID RAIN VERY WELL AT ALL!
The day ended with only 11 survivors. 7 Phils and 4 Dans. PINOFs, Punks, Crafties, and WAD Era have all been completely eliminated!
At this point, I decide I am rooting for the 2009 boys, Sister Daniel, or COTY and Revival (AKA the Current/2024) Phil. But I was also just immensely amused at how quickly the simulator popped off this time.
The first night was pretty quiet with no deaths or anything occuring. Some of the Phils snuggled up together while Revival Phil snuggled up with 2009 Dan.
Then almost immediately on Day 2, a group with both the 2009 Boys, COTY Phil, and Sister Daniel actually raid Revival Phil's camp. So 10/10 on the betrayal there 2009 Dan.
It stays quiet the rest of day 2. AND INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH ON NIGHT 2!
Phil STOP TRUSTING 2009 DAN HE LITERALLY HELPED RAID YOUR CAMP EARLIER!
But besides the whole trust and betrayal plot with those two, we have both of the hiatus boys deciding that it was time to start the hiatus for everyone else.
Hiatus Phil going for the more strategic kill as Pastel Phil is only Phil who has a kill up to this point.
Day 3 brings the feast. And just like BIG Dan tripped and died during the acid rain...
Coming out of the closet apparently involved tripping out of the closet.
The feast also included the continuation of the Hiatus Boys kill streak with them getting rid of half of the remaining Dans.
I really apperciate Hiatus Dan's commitment to lore accuracy.
This left only 6 tributes for the rest of Day 3.
Which turned to the final five tributes almost immediately with 2009 Phil finishing off the TATINOF era team.
All that is left in the Final Five is the 2009 Boys, the Hiatus Boys, and Revival Phil.
Night 3 is pretty quiet. But Day 4 ends up leveling the playing field with Hiatus Phil accidentally eating toxic berries.
Nothing in particular happens on Night 4 EXCEPT for the fact that 2009 Dan is now snuggling up with Hiatus Dan.
AND WITH A TASTE OF HIS OWN BETRAYAL MEDICINE FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME, Hiatus Dan tries but fails to eliminate 2009 Dan in the morning of Day 5.
After the failed attempt to eliminate 2009 Dan, Night 5 is actually pretty quiet. But on Day 6, Hiatus Dan sets his sights on the 2009 team again.
This brought us to the final three. 2009 Dan and Revival Phil, who both have no kills so far. And Hiatus Dan, who has brought a hiatus to at least three other Dans/Phils.
I don't have that much faith in either 2009 Dan or Revival Phil, but anything can happen in this simulator.
And on Night 6:
Revival Phil, in a bit of an ironic twist of following lore accuracy, put an end to Hiatus Dan while 2009 Dan actually ended up on fire.
No I am not sorry for that last sentence.
THIS MAKES PHIL THE WINNER OF THE ENTIRE PHANGRY GAMES!
The simulation turned out a lot more dramatic than I have experienced in the past (with the whole underlying Trust/Betrayal Plotline that ended up emerging with the final three) and was so funny to go through.
Here is a link to the simulator in case this post reminded you this simulator existed and you wanted to try it for yourself.
(The above link should load up the DnP Season as shown in the first image but it might not work after around three months due to the websites saving policy)

Can u write some malconnor hcs plz??? ❤️🤭 I'm starved fr :)
Ty love u
ah yes my babies I love them sm
it took me a while to get to this but anon I gotchu babe I love me some malconnor at ALL times
they’re givingggg youngest sibling x youngest sibling
I think Connor has always liked the idea of having a motorcycle, but he didn’t take it seriously until Malcolm mentioned someone at his school got one (and was kinda cute)
Connor was NOT HAVING THAT
(he called Travis like “BUCKLE UP WE’RE COMMITTING GRAND THEFT AUTO TONIGHT”)
can’t remember if I said this already but these two could ABSOLUTELY play Ghostface and get away with it
Malcolm would be their supplier and Connor would know all their escape routes and plans B through Z
maybe I’ve already written an au but that’s a WHOLE other thing
anyways I feel it in my Soul that Malcolm is from SoCal, so you can imagine he’s no stranger to parties, even as an introvert (I like to think he doesn’t like people but he’s really good at them— he’s a social butterfly)
the first time Connor saw Malcolm do a blowjob shot (that is a REAL THING LOOK IT UP BEFORE YOU COME FOR ME IT JUST MEANS SHOOTING WITH NO HANDS) he actually almost passed the fuck out
(I don’t condone underage drinking, kids, make sure you’re of legal age before trying any form of alcoholic beverage)
they’re both energy drink addicts and they’ll get each other’s favorites
Connor’s a Red Bull girlie and Malcolm says Monster is his life support
baking together but it devolves into them throwing handfuls of flour at each other and slipping on the eggs they dropped on the ground
(miraculously, the brownies still got made)
Connor pushing Malcolm’s glasses up onto his forehead so he can kiss him better
aside from the point I feel like……. Connor would play lacrosse
if I were to make THAT an au there’s jersey headcanons and going to games and whatever else that comes with it but that’s a WHOLE other circus
anyways they play Minecraft together
lightsaber fights because they’re both nerds
EVERYTHING is a competition with them
“first one to the lake gets to pick the movie tonight”
“you’re on, Stoll”
“good luck, Pace. you’re gonna need it”
“I hope you’re ready to LOSE”
Connor FaceTiming Malcolm during finals season, melting into a burnt out depressed blob at his desk, only to see Malcolm serenely normal annotating a book in his beanbag chair because he’d already finished studying for the night
“Mal,” Connor begged, “help me. Why am I forgetting quadratics. That was a freshman term.”
Malcolm: “Isn’t that a function?”
Connor: “A WHAT (I can’t do this)”
Malcolm, already putting his book away: “Okay… animal crossing then?”
Connor: *inconsolable sobbing* “I love you”
before the first fight of the Battle of Manhattan, after Percy’s big speech and they realize just how bleak their odds are, I like to think these two found each other in the crowd before it dispersed and just. grabbing each other. and not letting go until they have to.
and we don’t talk about the unspoken relief when they first see each other AFTER that first battle because I don’t think I can emotionally handle that one right now
also you know how often they sleep between fights? I know for a fact Malcolm passed out on Connor’s shoulder after at least one of them
fighting back to back tropes but it’s these two annihilating every battlefield you stick them on together
Connor’s immune system is stacked because traveling = tons of sicknesses so Hermes’ kids are super resistant to that, but poor Malcolm’s immunocompromised ass is always getting sick somehow
and like— whatever can affect Connor at all will do much worse to Malcolm, and they find that out the hard way (having to wake up the Apollo cabin in the middle of the night for emergency help because Connor’s mild cold developed into pneumonia in his poor boyfriend)
on a related note, Malcolm is a major germaphobe but not in the obnoxious way my brother is
eughhh in the first ToP book when Apollo accidentally gives the entire camp hay fever, that was not a good follow up week for Malcolm
Connor, who was mildly congested and that was the worst of his symptoms, took care of him the whole time dw
(I reread the Last Olympian today!!)

Thank you @striveattemptfail for the word WHALE
Well, he’d probably categorize it as come hither, but to each their own. “Copernicus Dale,” I say. “That’s me,” he says. Slowly. Langorously. I hate him already. “Okay, well, I’ve come to get you out, so if you have anything to take with you, pack it up or finish up your deals for it,” I say. He tilts his head, like he has all the time in the world. God. (I feel the demons turn to look at me when I think that.) “Who sent you?” “I didn’t get a name,” I say, “just yours.” “Really?” he says, and the smile finally lights up his eyes. He doesn’t seem like as much of a smug douchebag like that. I hold up my hand so he can see the scrawl, if he can read it. I assume he can read Adamantine if someone sent me to get him here, but I can’t vouch for my handwriting.
(Another excerpt from SDATT. original)
He sighs. “Dr. Green says I need to confront my fears.” “You’re afraid of quiche,” I clarify.
(From the main storyline of WHC. original)
“Are you a necromancer?” he asks. I pause. “I think we all are. Or, at least, all of us whose templates are necromancers, which is going to be most of us overall. I don’t know whether it’s part of the process or part of what we’re copying.” “Do you know what we’re doing here?” he asks. I look up at him. He has unassuming features. I wonder whether he’s trying hard not to make any expressions right now, or he just always looks like that. “You are supposed to be watching me, to make sure I don’t start committing atrocities or something. I am just trying to survive long enough to remember what I planned to do here.” He looks vaguely worried at that, but it’s all in the eyes. “It wasn’t committing any kind of atrocity, was it?”
(From the thing with the necromancers and the cloning, as yet untitled until I think of one. original)
Luxury like I’ve never seen before. Oh there were some that looked just like us – or like I will look, with my new clothes; I’ve bought pants that suit me very well if I do say so myself – but some of them! The men look dashing and the women ethereal and all of them in so many layers with hats and belts and ribbons and tassels and so much embroidery on everything! I think, when I come back home, I’m going to have all of my clothes embroidered and never go about plain again. It was like being in a play, and I was on stage with a whole troupe dancing their way around me while I made a lovely moving scene, dying in front of the prince so he could cry over never having loved me enough, or what have you. You should come yourself, if it wouldn’t upset your sensibilities too much.
(From the Hill House/Dracula crossover)
Extended silence is unusual for humans when spending long periods together, so I’m attempting to make small talk. Murderbot has given me a guide to this, which is very helpful, although I do sometimes wonder if I did anything wrong asking for help, because it gave me the strangest look when I brought the topic up. A look similar to the one Ratthi is giving me now, something I’ve come to interpret – with high 90s accuracy – means that I’ve done something out of the social norm.
(From the Murderbot story for FTH)
If you were tagged on the last one and want to be tagged again, let me know. If you weren't tagged either time and you want to be, let me know. Or just pretend I tagged you! @confusedshades @elodieunderglass @teashoesandhair @clockwayswrites

One of these or maybe 2 with Andrei iosivas???
How Did This Happen? ✧
WC: 2.4k or something like that
CW: Angst, Relationship, I think that’s it??
Prompt 3. “I Love You”, Prompt 44. “How Did This Happen?”
A/N: I’m sooo sorry this took so long I’ve had this request since early november i completely forgot about it half done in my drafts so i just finished it now, i apologize 😭😭
Just a reminder: THIS IS A WORK OF FICTION. I am not affiliated with Andrei Iosivas or the Cincinnati Bengals in any way.
Please don’t steal my work.
It was a bright Sunday morning in Andrei and I’s cozy house in the suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, enticing my senses as I prepared breakfast for Andrei and myself. He was finally living his childhood dream, as a wide receiver in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals, and I couldn't be prouder of him. I heard him coming down the stairs, his footsteps echoing through the hallway.
"Good morning, beautiful," Andrei greeted me with a warm smile, wrapping his arms around my waist and planting a kiss on my cheek. "What's for breakfast?"
I chuckled, feeling his strength and warmth against me. "Pancakes and bacon, your favorite," I replied, turning around to steal a quick kiss from his lips.
As we enjoyed our breakfast, Andrei shared his excitement about the upcoming game, . "I have a good feeling about today's game. I can't wait to show them what I've got," he said, his eyes sparkling with determination.
"I believe in you, Andrei. You're going to shine out there," I reassured him, placing my hand over his as we sat at the kitchen table. The love and pride I felt for him were immeasurable. Seeing him pursue his passion with such fire was truly inspiring.
As the afternoon approached, Andrei headed to the stadium for the game. I decided to surprise him by attending and cheering him on from the front row of the stands. The energy and excitement in the stadium were infectious, amplifying my anticipation for the match.
The game was intense, each play bringing a mixture of cheers and groans from the crowd. Suddenly, as the decisive play unfolded, Andrei leaped into the air, catching the winning touchdown pass with a stunning display of athleticism.
The stadium erupted in cheers, and I couldn't contain my excitement. "That's my man!" I screamed, my voice blending with the ecstatic roar of the crowd.
After the game, I eagerly made my way down to the field to congratulate Andrei. When I spotted him, a crowd of fans already surrounded him. He caught my eye and flashed a bright smile, making his way through the crowd to embrace me.
"You were amazing out there, Andrei!" I exclaimed, wrapping my arms around him. "I'm so proud of you!” "Thank you love" Andrei said, his eyes filled with joy. "I couldn't have done it without your support. You're my lucky charm."
We made our way back home, our spirits high as we joked and laughed, reliving the exhilarating moments of the game. As the evening approached, we settled in the living room, enjoying the warmth of each other's company.
"I'm so grateful to have you in my life, Y/N," Andrei whispered, his gaze filled with sincerity. "You make everything brighter."
I gazed into his eyes, feeling a rush of emotions overwhelming me. "I love you, Andrei," I confessed, my heart fluttering with love and contentment.
"I love you too," Andrei murmured, his voice filled with tenderness. Time seemed to stand still as we embraced, savoring the depth of our connection.
However, as the days passed, a cloud of unease crept into our lives. Andrei's hectic schedule and commitment to his career began to strain our time together. I missed having him by my side, sharing laughter and quiet moments.
One evening, as I prepared dinner, Andrei arrived home looking exhausted. I could sense the weight of his responsibilities weighing heavily on him. It pained me to see him so drained. ”How was your day, love?" I asked, setting the table for dinner as he slumped into a chair, his weariness palpable.
"It's been a long day, Y/N," Andrei sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I wish I could spend more time with you, but the team's demands are relentless."
I felt a pang of sadness at his words. "I understand, Andrei. I just miss being able to share more moments with you," I admitted, hoping he would understand my perspective.
The following weeks blurred into a routine, our interactions becoming brief and fleeting amidst Andrei's rigorous training and game schedule. I struggled with the growing distance between us, yearning for the closeness we once shared.
After a particularly grueling game, Andrei returned home, his expression weary and detached. I longed to comfort him, but his distant demeanor left me feeling helpless.
"Andrei, are you okay?" I asked, reaching out to touch his arm, hoping to bridge the emotional gap that seemed to form between us. "I'm just exhausted, Y/N," Andrei replied, his voice strained. "I need some time alone to unwind."
Despite my concern, I nodded, giving him the space he sought. As I headed to the bedroom, an unsettling feeling gnawed at me, prompting me to reflect on the changes in our relationship.
The following day, I decided to surprise Andrei with a romantic gesture to reignite the spark between us. I prepared a candlelit dinner and adorned the living room with flowers, hoping to convey the depth of my love for him.
When Andrei arrived home, he seemed surprised by the setup, but his response was not what I had anticipated. "I appreciate the effort, Y/N, but I'm really not in the mood for this," he stated, his tone distant and detached.
I felt the sting of disappointment pierce my heart. "I just wanted us to reconnect, Andrei. I miss us," I confessed, my voice trembling with vulnerability.
Andrei let out a sigh, his expression conflicted. "I'm going through a lot right now, Y/N. I need space to focus on my career," he explained, his words creating a painful chasm between us.
His words echoed in my mind, leaving me feeling adrift and alone. I struggled to comprehend the abrupt shift in our dynamic, the warmth and affection we once shared fading like a distant memory.
Days turned into weeks, and the emotional distance between us felt insurmountable. I spent countless nights immersed in a tempest of emotions, yearning for the love and connection that seemed to slip through my fingers.
One evening, as I sat in our living room, the weight of my unresolved emotions became unbearable. I heard the familiar sound of the front door opening, and I braced myself for Andrei's arrival.
"Andrei, we need to talk," I stated, my voice steady despite the turmoil brewing within me. "I can't continue like this. I miss the warmth and love we used to share."
Andrei sighed, his expression weary. "Y/N, I'm trying to focus on my career. It's a crucial time for me, and I need to prioritize my goals," he explained, his words only deepening the chasm between us.
"But what about us, Andrei? What about our love?" I pleaded, desperation coloring my voice as I grappled with the impending sense of loss. "I just need some space, Y/N," Andrei replied, his gaze haunted by the weight of his ambitions. "I hope you understand."
With a heavy heart, I watched him retreat to the bedroom, a sense of resignation settling over me. The unraveling of our once vibrant bond felt like a cruel twist of fate, leaving me adrift in a sea of heartache.
As the days passed, I found solace in the quiet corners of our home, grappling with the newfound solitude that enveloped me. Memories of our laughter and affection haunted the rooms, a bittersweet reminder of what was and what had slipped away.
One night, as I wandered through the darkened house, a sudden realization dawned upon me. I couldn't linger in the shadows of heartache. I needed to rediscover the light within myself, to find the strength to navigate the uncharted path ahead.
Determination sparked within me, and I made a decision to embark on a journey of self-discovery, to embrace the courage to carve a new beginning amidst the remnants of what once was.
With each passing day, I immersed myself in newfound passions and rediscovered the vibrant hues of life that had dimmed in the wake of heartbreak. I poured my heart into creative pursuits, letting the rhythm of my endeavors heal the shattered fragments within me.
As the seasons shifted, a sense of empowerment blossomed within me, propelling me toward a newfound sense of purpose and fulfillment. I reveled in the joy of unearthing the dormant layers of resilience and resilience buried within.
One radiant morning, as I immersed myself in the melody of a favorite song, the doorbell chimed, interrupting the tranquil cadence. I made my way to the door, a sense of curious anticipation sweeping through me.
To my surprise, a familiar figure stood before me, his eyes reflecting a blend of regret and longing. "Y/N, I've missed you," Andrei murmured, his voice tinged with a vulnerability I hadn't witnessed in so long.
Despite the tumult of emotions surging within me, I remained composed, absorbing his presence with a newfound sense of self-assuredness. "What brings you here, Andrei?" I inquired, refusing to let the echoes of the past cloud my resolve.
"I've realized how much I've missed the warmth and love we shared, Y/N," Andrei confessed, his voice laced with remorse. "I understand the distance I allowed to grow between us, and I want to make things right."
His words held a glimmer of hope, but I knew that mending the frayed threads of our past would require more than words. "Andrei, I've come to understand the depth of my own resilience and capacity for growth," I stated, my voice resonating with newfound clarity.
"I'm willing to work on us, but it has to be a partnership that honors the love and commitment we share," I continued, refusing to dim the radiance of my newfound strength for the comfort of familiarity.
Andrei nodded, his gaze filled with earnest determination. "I understand, Y/N. I want to embark on this journey of healing and growth with you," he affirmed, his words carrying the weight of sincere intention.
As we embarked on the path of reconciliation, we navigated the complexities of rebuilding what once stood fractured. Open communication and unwavering commitment became the foundation upon which we sought to mend the rift that had threatened to sever our love.
We shared moments of unearthing buried vulnerabilities, offered understanding and support, and embraced the intricacies of healing as individuals bound by a love that refused to waver.
With each passing day, our shared laughter and quiet moments wove a tapestry of renewal, breathing life into the love that had endured trials and emerged with a depth that surpassed the remnants of brokenness.
As the days embraced the embrace of a new season, our renewed bond blossomed with a vibrancy that mirrored the journey we had undertaken. The echoes of heartache dimmed in the wake of a love made unbreakable by the trials we had traversed.
One tranquil evening, as we sat on the patio, a sense of contentment enveloped us as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with a tapestry of fiery hues. "How did this happen?" Andrei mused, his gaze reflecting the serenity that had settled within our hearts.
I smiled, savoring the warmth of our togetherness. "It took courage, resilience, and a love that refused to be confined by the shadows of the past," I replied, my voice tinged with gratitude for the journey that had led us to this tranquil moment.
As we basked in the quiet beauty of the evening, a sense of gratitude swelled within me, an acknowledgment of the love that had endured and the fortitude that had woven us together once more.
The following morning, as I prepared breakfast, Andrei entered the kitchen, his gaze filled with an unmistakable spark of excitement. "I love you," he declared, his voice resonating with an earnest ardor that reignited the flames of our shared love. I chuckled, feeling the warmth of his affection suffuse the air. "I love you too," I hummed, savoring the sweet melody of our rekindled love.
As the day unfurled, we reveled in the simple joys of shared moments, our laughter mingling with the gentle cadence of a love that had weathered storms and emerged unyielding.
As the weeks melded into a dance of cherished togetherness, I found myself immersed in the vibrant hues of a love imbued with a fortitude that had withstood the tests of time and tribulation.
One evening, as we strolled through the serene expanse of a nearby park, a sense of tranquility enveloped us, the tranquility of a love reborn and strengthened by the trials that had once threatened to extinguish its glow.
"I'm grateful for where we are now, Andrei," I murmured, my voice carrying the depth of my gratitude for the love that had found its way back to us.
"Me too, Y/N," Andrei echoed, his eyes reflecting the poignant beauty of our journey. "Our love is stronger than ever, and I cherish every moment with you."
In the embrace of our shared love, we reveled in the poignant beauty of a journey that had led us back to each other, a love revitalized by the fortitude that had refused to succumb to the pangs of heartache.
As the tranquil evenings unfolded into a symphony of cherished moments, our love thrived amidst the tapestry of shared laughter, tender gazes, and the quiet beauty of a bond strengthened by the resilience that had become our guiding light.
Amidst the quiet whispers of an evening bathed in the gentle glow of twilight, a joyous melody soared through our home, the sound of our shared laughter mingling with the vibrant strains of a love reborn from the ashes of past trials.
One tranquil Sunday morning, as sunlight illuminated the contours of our home, Andrei and I found ourselves enveloped in a dance of shared moments, the echoes of our laughter resonating with the radiance of a love revitalized by the fortitude that had led us back to each other.
“I'm grateful for the depth of our love, Y/N," Andrei whispered, his voice carrying the warmth of his affection for me.
"And I'm grateful for the resilience that has bound us together, Andrei," I murmured, savoring the poignant beauty of a love that had endured and emerged with a depth that transcended the echoes of heartache.
As the days embraced the embrace of a new season, we found ourselves immersed in the vibrant hues of a love that had been revitalized by the fortitude that had guided us back to each other, a love unyielding in the wake of past trials.
Amidst the tranquil expanse of our home, the gentle cadence of shared laughter, and the tender beauty of a love invigorated by the resilience that had become our guiding light, Andrei and I reveled in the depth of our shared bond, a bond unbreakable by the trials we had navigated.

Hello there! This is my first time I am requesting something, but I came up with a Matt Rempe request: You met him some time ago. Your friends and family know you are talking and being friends with a guy, they just don’t know who. Reader is pretty strong with what their goals are and one of those is finish college and go to graduate school in another country. Reader is quite busy all the time and is determinate to achieve their dreams. Therefore they think is not appropriate to have a relationship when they know they won’t be able to commit to one in the meantime. Matt knows this and he tells reader that he will wait, even thought he just confessed. He supports the reader to achieve their goal, reader manages to do it, after some time, Matt kept his word and is still in love with them and they go full on that relationship. You can add the paparazzi craziness after they announce it and the whole thing. Also, Matt is beaming with happiness and can’t stop talking about their future together.
It’s been a wild few years since you first met Matt Rempe.
Back then, your priorities were set like stone: finish college, get into graduate school abroad, and build the career you’d dreamed of for years. Relationships? Not on your list. Even when Matt entered your life with his infectious laugh and endless support, you made it clear: your goals came first, and you weren’t ready to commit. But he’d just grinned at you, his voice warm as he’d said, “I’ll wait for you.”
You’d been skeptical. He had a rising career in hockey, a world brimming with fast-paced action and high stakes. The thought of him waiting was… well, it felt too good to be true. But he did. He checked in on your late nights, even timed calls around your study schedule, often staying up just to hear about your classes and projects, and cheering you on whenever you felt doubts creeping in.
Through grueling exams, applications, and countless sleepless nights, Matt was there, encouraging you. And somehow, that distance between you became the quiet rhythm of your friendship, blooming into a love you didn’t even realize was growing.
When you finally got accepted into grad school overseas, he’d been there on the other end of the phone, practically shouting with joy. He’d told you, “You’re doing it—you’re really doing it!” as if your dreams were as important to him as his own.
Time passed, and every time you returned home, you noticed the way his gaze softened, like he was saving that look just for you. Despite his own growing fame, he never once let his own world overshadow yours. Matt kept his promise.
Finally, after years of late-night talks, shared milestones, and enduring distance, you both knew it was time. No more holding back, no more what-ifs. The announcement took the internet by storm, and the frenzy that followed was unreal. Paparazzi swarmed, trying to get every bit of the story, and suddenly, you were both the latest headline in sports and entertainment news.
But through it all, Matt was just beaming. He couldn’t stop talking about your future together, openly sharing his excitement with anyone who asked. He’d been so patient, and now that he finally had you, he couldn’t hold back. And in his interviews and stories, there was always this glow—like he’d won the biggest game of his life.
“I always knew I’d wait for you,” he told you one evening, his hand resting over yours. "And every minute was worth it.”
Your journey together had only just begun, but this time, it was a love you could fully commit to. And as he wrapped his arms around you, whispering promises about the life you’d build together, you knew that no goal had ever felt as fulfilling as being with him.

I’ll protect you (Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic x reader)
Based off this request.
Have you ever met someone who you instantly have a connection with? Where it's like you knew each other in a past life and your first meeting is actual a reunion? That is the way you would describe the day you met Ana.
Now almost three years later the two are you are inseparable although neither one of you have confessed that you want your relationship to be more than platonic.
One of the things you loved about Ana was her commitment to the team and the Catalonian people. It came as a shock when she picked up Spanish as quickly as she did but it could be argued that it wasn't the student that was good, it was you the teacher.
Her passion carried over when Barcelona played Real Madrid, the legendary El Classico.
"Someone's excited" you spot Ana in her locker, her knee bouncing up and down.
"And you're not? I know you love this match just as much as me, if not more" Ana helps you tape your wrists, it was your first of many pre match rituals.
"I know that with Jenni gone and Alexia on the sidelines I am going to be their number one target"
In every El Classico so far, Real Madrid were predictable. They made it known very early on in the game who they wanted to take out. You enjoyed it and you loved any chance to tease your Madrid counterparts although they didn't find it fun getting beat time and time again.
"I'll protect you" Ana is deadly serious when she makes her promise to you.
"I can look out for myself. Focus on getting the ball in the back of the net"
History is sure to repeat itself as Barcelona find themselves 2-0 up just before half time. Madrid start to get desperate but it was to be expected and you warned the girls of this. Esther was no longer hiding her intention to hurt you and after the third of fourth tackle she got a yellow card. At this point you thought she would back off in fear of getting a second and then a red only this doesn't happen.
The half time whistle blows and instead of going into the locker room, you go straight for the woman that has been on your back the entire game.
"Keep going Esther. You know I have my limits and you are dangerously close" you body check her before walking away.
"I barely touched you. You just don't know how to play football without your friends. The whole world knows that you're struggling to play without Alexia and it is only a matter of time before they see that you're not worth the credit you get" Esther spits.
"Shut up or the next thing to come out of your mouth with be your teeth" Ana's presence startles you.
Esther continues rambling as she walks through the tunnel, her voice becoming quieter with every step she takes.
"She's right" you admit as you sink into your locker.
"No, she isn't and you'll prove her wrong when you go back out there and show the world just how good Y/N Y/L/N is"
Ana always has faith in you even when you didn't. Over the past few months you have doubted yourself more than ever but she was always there to remind you who you are.
In the second half you played with a new purpose, to show Esther who Spain's best forward was. With your confidence level at an all time high it led to Esther making more tackles than she did in the first half and every one she made got worse and worse.
Whilst you remain level headed you knew Ana was get close to blowing up. She liked to protect you whether that was in a nightclub when a stranger refused to take no for answer or like today when you're get getting hurt and nothing is being done about it.
The final nails on the Real Madrid coffin come in the form of two more goals, both coming from you. After the second one you saw the opportunity to taunt Esther and get in her head so after you finished celebrating with your team you look directly at her and do her signature celebration. You knew that it would anger her more but you no longer cared. There was only 7 minutes left on the clock, you could handle it.
Barcelona receive a corner which doesn't go to plan. Instead of football it becomes a game of ping pong, the ball going from head to head. You see it coming your way and you jump to head in the direction of the goal but at the last minute you see Esther coming towards with her foot high. Already in the air, you close your eyes and wait for her foot to hit your head only it doesn't, instead you feel her studs connect with your sternum.
The breath is knocked out of you, a mixture of the impact and the force in which you hit the floor.
"Y/N" Aitana tries to get your attention but your eyes remain shut as you try to focus on your breathing.
Something else that sticks out is the headache that comes thick and fast, you know you must have hit it on the floor when you fell. Your surroundings are a blur but you recognise the sound of the medics asking you question.
"I-can't-breathe" you say through laboured breaths.
"Try to stay still" one of them tells you.
"Ana" you use all your energy to call out for the one woman you want by your side.
"I'm here Y/N. Everything's going to be ok" Ana takes a hold of your hand. When she sees you close you eyes she squeezes you hand tightly so that you know she is there even if you can't see her.
Ana has never felt more helpless in her life. The medics cut open your shirt so they can asses the damage, it's something she wasn't ready to see. There in the middle of your chest was a boot print, some marking had even opened up and blood was trickling down your chest. You wince when you feel someone brush over the point of impact.
You swat the hand away immediately.
"Y/N let them do there job, please" you turn your attention to Ana. Her face is pale and you see a single tear roll down her cheek.
The medics lift you onto the stretcher, Ana remaining by your side the entire time. That is until she hears Esther speak ill of you, yet again, only this time she does something about it.
"At least now she gets to watch in the stands with dear La Reina" Esther jokes with her teammates only no one is laughing. Their faces drop when they see the Swiss international approaching them at speed.
"You're so insecure of your own abilities that you purposely try to hurt Y/N. You are a discrace and don't deserve to play football" Ana shoves Esther, sending her to the floor but she is soon back to her feet.
"Mierda!" Patri says as she runs after her team mate, others follow in suit.
Patri and Irene try their hardest to pull Ana away but nothing they do works.
"Come on" Patri begs.
"Don't let her get to you" Irene adds.
They both grab hold of her but she shrugs them off, clearly she wasn't done with the Madrid forward.
"You better hope she is ok or the next time we meet i'll--" Ana threatens only to be cut off.
"You'll do what?" Esther pushes Ana again.
This time Ana shoves her a lot harder than the first time and Esther hits the floor hard.
"You don't want to find out"
"Ana, walk away" Marta, who has been called over for extra help says "They are taking her to the hospital. Jona has got Mariona ready to sub in for you but if don't leave now you won't be able to go with Y/N"
This seems to work because Ana runs off the pitch without saying another word. She ignores the ref but thanks her coach when she gets to the side lines.
Later than night you are discharged from the hospital. After getting several scans you are told that you have a minor concussion due to the fall and a broken sternum thanks to Esther.
Ana accompanies you back to your apartment and insists on staying the night despite you telling her numerous times that you are fine. After all the doctors gave you some strong painkillers which reduced the pain significantly although you were warned that you would be very sore in the morning.
She helps you get changed, turning around when you are indecent even though she has seen you topless number of times.
Once in bed Ana helps you get comfy before leaving.
"I thought you said you were staying the night" even though you are adamant you don't need help you were still looking forward to the sleepover with your best friend.
"I'll be in the living room. You need to get some rest" Ana leans against the door frame.
When she sees you pouting she shakes her head ever so slightly. You pull back the corner of the duvet on the empty side of the bed and pat it a couple of times.
"Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic please come to bed"
Ana loved the way you said her name. The way you pronounced every syllable and how your spanish accent meant you rolled the r's. It made saying no to you incredibly difficult and you were fully aware of this, it's why you did it.
The two of you gets settled and Ana picks out a movie, one that she is sure you've never seen before. You may be focused on the TV but whenever you look over to your best friend you find her staring at your chest.
"Stop looking at my boobs"
"I -- I wasn't looking at them -- I mean I was but I wasn't -- I was looking at--" Ana face rivals the colour of a beetroot at your accusation.
"Looking at this" you pull the front of your tank top down revealing all of the marks left by Esther's boot.
"I told you I would protect you" Ana refuses to look you in your eyes as she thinks about how she failed you.
"There's nothing you could have done and from what i've heard you defended my honour afterwards" you could tell that Ana felt bad about you getting hurt and whilst you don't mind being the damsel in distress if she is the one saving you, you knew that this was just one of those times where nothing or no one could stop Esther from her attack.
"It's my fault"
"Really Ana?" You were staring to get annoyed. Ana was making is obvious that she wanted to punish herself but you really didn't want to spend the night talking about what happened.
"Don't look at me like that" Ana senses your annoyance "I provoked her at half time and since then her tackles got worse. She knew that by going after you she would be hurting me"
"This isn't about you"
"No it's not. It's abut you Y/N. Do you know how scared I was? I told you I would protect you and I failed you. I couldn't protect the woman I" Ana stops herself before she says something she cannot take back.
Your eyes widen when you realise what she was about to say. Is this really what it took for you both to admit your feelings. Was you getting put in the hospital your version of an airport confessions from the movies.
"Finish your sentence" you tell her. The expression on your face is serious. No part of you wants her to think you are making fun of her.
"I can't"
"Please"
Then it hits her. You know what you was about to say and you want her to say it anyway.
Ana tucks a stray hair behind your ear, her palm rests on your cheek and you melt into her touch. She looks you in the eye then at your lips, you didn't pull away from her touch yet she was still hesitating.
"Fuck it" you lean forward, ignoring the pain that rises to your chest at the sudden move and kiss your best friend.
It is Ana who deepens this kiss but you have to push her away.
"Ow, ow, ow" you lay back down as you try to get your breathe.
"Sorry. That's my fault, I shouldn't have -"" Ana begins to apologise only for you to cut her off.
"I swear to god Ana if you blame yourself once more I am kicking you out"
Ana hold her hands up in surrender. In this moment she would do anything to stay with you.
"Come here" Ana extends her arms so you can lay against her side" Carefully" you warns when she hears you wince.
The two of you go back to watching the film only for Ana to pause it after 20 minutes.
"The woman I love. I love you Y/N" Ana finishes her sentence.
You turn slightly so that you can face her.
"I love you Ana-Maria" you softly kiss her again. You want her and in this moment you ignore the pain you are feeling.
Ana cups your face and gently pulls away. You pout at the lack of connection but this time is doesn't work.
"Don't look at me like that. I want this just as much as you do but I won't have you hurting yourself more" Your heart warms at how Ana was back to protecting you, only this time it was from yourself.
It took 2 weeks for your concussion to pass and 6 weeks for your broken sternum to heal. The day you got the green light Ana took you out on your first official date and that night the longing you two of you experienced over the years was let go.

I finally finished my Poster!
This was a poster I did 2 years ago for Undertale's 7th anniversary. While I am still proud of that original piece, I thought I could redo better this year, and I'd say I did!
(note: I will not be making a full dragon AU for Undertale! I may do a dragon here and there for that game, but I don't really want to commit to a full AU right now)
Original 2 yo poster under the cut

HEARTBREAKS: Beelzebub
~Finally got around to write the last brother for the Heartbreaks series. It’s been difficult to write it so please be gentle haha! I have no inspiration at the moment…~
——————————————————————————
You started dating them but others had decided they should date demons of powerful lineage not a mere human.
——————————————————————————
Since you arrived in the Devildom, you had a slight crush for Beel. You weren’t really close at first but you saw how he was with his brothers and especially Belphegor. He was huge but was the gentlest of all of them and slowly, his caring and protectiveness fell on you too.
You had accompanied his brothers to a few of his Fangol games. You didn’t know the rules and even after someone explained to you, you didn’t get it but you tried your best to support him. You jumped up and down and clapped when he would score. You noticed he would always look up to your seats and smiled shyly when his eyes fell on you, a slight blush forming at the top of his cheeks. You found him adorable. Sometimes, he would wave timidly and you waved back. It made you happy every time he did. After the end of the game, you would wait for him while his brothers left you on your own and the two of you would walk back to the House of Lamentations, always with snacks in your hands. You enjoyed these moments alone with the tall demon. He seemed so innocent despite being a demon and you felt comfortable around him to show your vulnerability and your fears. Life wasn’t easy in the Devildom, especially for a human but with him by your side you felt safe, with your life, with your soul. The walk with him was always so peaceful, you always dreaded the time when you would have to enter the House and hear the chaos. And every time, without a fail, there was an argument going on. Tonight, it was about whose turn it was to make dinner. It made you mad listening to such a silly fight. “FINE! I’LL COOK!” You screamed at the top of your lungs. They all turned around, speechless. You turned away and headed towards the kitchen. You looked around the pantry and the fridge to see what you would be able to make, well, for eight people. You smiled when you noticed all the ingredients you had found were perfect for Beel’s favourite dish.
You hated cooking but right now you were enjoying it as no one came to bother you but after a few minutes of preparing the meal, you heard footsteps coming in. You sighed and turned to see who had arrived. It was Beel. You smiled brightly at him, kind of relieved it was him, not one of his brothers as you were mad at them still. He looked at you sheepishly. “Do you need help?” You hummed, thinking. “Yes, I do BUT! You can’t eat anything yet.” He chuckled and he approached you. “I’ll try but I am hungry.” You nodded and gave him stuff to do. He started to talk. You were surprised as usually you were the one talking but he had realised you were making his favourite meal and he wanted to thank you by talking. He started to talk about his life in the celestial realm, how he fell because he decided to follow Lucifer and how he lost his sister. You listened carefully, committing each word he said into memory. Tears were falling from your face, you realised they didn’t have it easy and you felt bad for being annoyed at them earlier. Beel had finished talking when he realised you were silently crying.
He gasped and rushed to your side and lifted your face with his big hands. He wiped the tears from your cheeks with his thumbs and with a worried look, he whispered. “What? What’s wrong?” You sniffled and shook your head. “Nothing, it’s just… I had heard what you just told me but I guess no one really talked to me about how they felt about it. You seemed all so happy being here despite being fallen angels.” Even though you stopped crying, he kept his hands on your cheeks but his eyes showed sorrow and pain. “We had a few centuries to move on” you chuckled at his choice of words. “But the pain is still there. I still have nightmares about it as does Belphegor. I’m not sure about the others as it’s not something they talk freely about but there is still a sadness, guilt, remorse in all of us.” You touched his cheek slightly with your hand and smiled. He leaned his forehead against yours and closed his eyes. He looked relieved as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulder.
You pulled away when you heard Mammon screaming from afar. “Is dinner ready?” You giggled. “Yes almost!” Beel set the dinner table and you brought the dish. You had a nice dinner, everyone was really pleasant after your outburst. You looked at all of them and saw there was no bitterness about earlier. Satan had gone out and brought some desserts. You went back to your room and got ready for bed. A knock on your door startled so you hurried up putting your pyjamas on. You opened the door and saw the Avatar of Gluttony standing in his pyjamas with snacks in his hands. “Hi Beel! What can I do for you?” He smiled. “I was wondering if we could watch a movie and eat some snacks?” You laughed and nodded while moving away from the door to let him in. He sat on the bed still holding his snacks and you took them off him. You put them on your night table and lied down on your bed. You patted down the mattress next to you so he could also lay down next to you. He gently did and you felt the mattress dip. The dip made you fall on him as your position wasn’t that stable. You started laughing but he wrapped his arm around your shoulders.
Your alarm went off and you sat up, startled. You looked around and saw that Beel was still there. He grabbed you by the waist and brought you back to his chest. “Stay a little longer.” You agreed and stayed there for a few minutes. He had stopped the alarm for you and you relaxed in his arms. For the next few weeks, he would spend most of the evenings with you, sometimes going back to his room, other times falling asleep in your arms. You went to his Fangol practice, even joined the gym with him.
After those few weeks, you started to feel people’s stares on your back, demons whispering when you would walk with him or alone. It bothered you but Beel seemed oblivious to all of this so you let it go for now, hopefully it was only you being paranoid after months in the Devildom. You ignored them and carried on with your life. One day, Beel finally decided to ask you out on a date. You got so excited! You started to get ready for the restaurant. It was a new restaurant that the demon wanted to try with you. Apparently, they had some human foods on the menu. He knocked on the door and you opened it. He smiled at you. “You look gorgeous”. You smiled back shyly. “Thanks, you too”. He chuckled and showed you his arm. You took it happily and you both left the House of Lamentations for the restaurant.
Dinner went smoothly. You talked about your life, your likes and dislikes, your past relationships, your family. He listened to you carefully, a glint in his eyes especially when you talked about your family and how close you are to them. He talked too of course, but he had seemed to privilege listening to you. It felt nice talking about anything other than RAD and the Devildom. A bit of normality. After the desserts, plural as Beel wanted to try all of them, you left the restaurant. Beelzebub wanted to show you his favourite place. There was a few people around but it was still quiet. You stood there looking at the sky, sensing Beel’s eyes on you. You turned your head and smiled sweetly at him. “It’s beautiful, thank you for showing it to me.” He looked at your face up and down. “Not the only thing that is beautiful here.” He leaned in his face close to yours and your breath hitched. He stopped and stared into your eyes to ask permission. You answered by closing the gap and connect your lips with his. It was sweet and gentle but you could feel your heart beating wildly at the kiss. You pulled away and smiled at him. “Let’s go home.” He interlaced his fingers with yours and lead you back home.
The next day at RAD, the usual whispers and stares had intensified tenfold. There weren’t whispers anymore, you could hear them clearly now. “I can’t believe he kissed that human.” “The coach won’t be happy, they can’t afford controversies at the moment.” You could feel your heart pounding in your head, hands shaking. Were you not allowed to date the Avatar of Gluttony ? It sent you into a spiral, the words you heard, ringing in your head non stop. All day you heard the demons talking behind your back and it made you more and more worried. You wanted to talk to Beel but you couldn’t see him anywhere. You felt alone and overwhelmed but you remembered that he had practice that afternoon so you were going to see him, hopefully he would help feel better.
You went to the Fangol practice and watched him. He saw you and waved at you. You smiled, already feeling better. At the end of practice, Beel joined you and gave you a peck on the lips before pulling away. You chased him for more but you saw his coach stomping towards you, anger on his face. Beel saw your face and turned around. “Hey coach!” The coach stopped in front of you, clearly unhappy. “So I see the rumours have heard were true!” Beel quirked an eyebrow. “What do you mean?” The other demon shook his head. “I can’t have my star dating a human. Beel you have to decide. Either date the human OR stay in the team.” Beel was dumbfounded and you looked at them with wide eyes, tears forming. The coach left you two and Beel looked at you, sadness written on his face. Before he said anything, you hugged him. “It’s okay Beel. I understand. Fangol is more important. We only started dating, it will be fine, don’t worry. I won’t hold it against you. You don’t need to make a choice, I’ll do it for you.” You kissed him on the cheek, tears running down yours and you left.

October Update
Hi guys! Thanks again for all the support regarding my last update. Stopping the marketing has been great for my mental health and I've finally been able to make progress on the game.
Backgrounds
All the backgrounds are... done 😰I feel like that can't be right. But, I've got them all, and barring any issues where I need to commission a couple more, we should be all set.
Programming
I have programmed 1750/7255 lines of Aalam's route so far (Scene 5 of 30)! This includes voice, music, animations, etc. Once I get through this round of programming, it'll be ready for testing. Last time I asked for volunteers for beta testers, but due to mixed results as far as people keeping deadlines, I don't think I'll be doing that again. I might ask a select group of people and see if there's anything left in the budget I can offer as payment.
Writing
Most of the new writing for Aalam's route is in later chapters, so I didn't do much this month aside from some editing of typos, etc., as I started from the beginning to program/polish all at once.
CGs
Good news and bad news on this front. The good news is that my CG artist is okay and isn't in any danger as far as we know. The bad news is that she has decided to leave the project. I am going to reach out to another artist once I finish taking in all the sketches/finished pieces she's done and seeing how much work is actually left.
Voice Acting
I hit a snag when someone asked me about the VA strike. I wasn't aware of it, as I haven't been keeping up with current events due to life stuff. But we came to an arrangement, and I'll be sending the VA scripts out soon, hopefully today. Essentially, I'm making a commitment not to use any of the voice lines received for AI training, now or in the future. Which I think is a very simple thing to promise and I can't believe people are having to strike for what seems like common sense. Anyway.
Conclusion and Timeline
That's it for me folks! Your support has been so uplifting, so thank you again.
I've been very busy with IRL work lately so I haven't had as much time to work on CC as I wanted, but I'm hoping to finish Aalam's route and send it to testing by the end of November. Slow and steady wins the race. 💪🏾
As a side note... my birthday is Friday, a great present would be to wishlist the game!
